As you know, Alfred started school yesterday. So, to avoid the inevitable, "Can I watch telly?" as soon as his walks in the door, I've set up this #invitationtoplay based on the wonderful See Under the Sea.
Set up was easy; I just emptied his sea animals and a box of plastic lids I've been saving, for just such an occasion, into a a big tub of water. His job is to clean up the ocean and save the sea creatures. I've given him a variety of tools to pick up the plastics and a pot to 'recycle' it into.

Are your kids eco-aware? We're making an effort to reduce our use of plastics, recently using a milk man for that reason. We also recycle much of our waste; Bracknell Forest Council make it very easy and even run a recycling incentive scheme.
I was very proud of Alfred going round the beach this weekend, collecting other people's rubbish after he saw the seagulls trying to eat it. I have found our books invaluable in helping raise his awareness of the need to take care of our planet and the ways in which we can do our bit.
