Pop Goes the Technosphere is a new technology event series exploring the intersection of architecture, technology and biology through a range of performative and immersive experiences which will include architects, planners, designers, technologists, biologists, ecologists, farmers, artists and researchers. The programme is rooted in principles of controlled ecological life support systems and emerging technologies and their expanding role in resilient architecture. Pop Goes ...the Technosphere has been created by Dr Vincent Walsh.

Pop Goes the Technosphere presents: Immersive Cities
There are more than 60 trillion pages/nodes/points of information interconnecting on the net. This entire cornucopia has been created in less than 8,000 days, a very big library that goes beyond our own understanding, the whole is always more than the sum of its parts. This is a vast mind stretching across the bios and technos, hardware and software, wetware biological and technological infrastructures wired together through the “internet of everything”. The force of these waves is Inevitable, like rapid plankton blooming in the deep sea or the technium bloom in the deep web, they are as inevitable as each other.
This edition of Pop Goes the Technosphere explores the realms of exponential technological growth pushing the boundaries of immersive capabilities across the built environment. The discussion will lead into a conversation about the capabilities of the Immersive Digital City Platform at RIBA North. The Immersive Digital City Platform is a cutting-edge, interactive, illustrative tool which can provide a detailed overview of what is currently present in the world whilst simultaneously generating a cogent narrative of what that world could become.
