I am aware of a certain individual claiming to have contacted Panasonic with a 'reference number' stating that I am not licenced by panasonic. Please ignore those comments as its the usual facebook hate/jealousy. - I have it right in front of me with the full signature.

Finally the signed copy of the licence has arrived. I am fully authorised as a Technics engineer (lawful entity).
Edit: To avoid confusion this is the licence for me to offer my services regarding the use of the Technics brand name within the work which I do servicing Technics turntables on my website. All my credentials and qualifications would have been checked in order for me to be issued this licence in keeping with the quality control by Panasonic. I would not be a general 'service centre' as that is a separate franchise which deals with their hi-fi products, As people know, I only work on the legendary SL1200/1210 series.

That facepalm moment when youre servicing a Technics turntable for a local customer and see this surprise. Someone (who shall remain nameless) did this when they 'serviced' the deck for them previously. Absolutely no need. Another reason to check the background and qualifications of people who service your decks!

One of the perks of being an authorised Technics engineer, you sometimes get sent nice little surprises. Here we have a modified electric screwdriver with all of the exact torque settings needed for tightening all the screws on a Technics turntable. That will speed things up a bit as no longer need to torque them up manually! :)

Rest assured your turntables are very safe and secure when in my posession. As a member of the IET and UK engineering council, I have to adhere to certain codes of practise when I have other peoples property in my care. This means even in the event of me suddenly falling ill or being unavailable, contingencies are always in place to ensure customers are to be contacted and re-united with their turntables. Its the golden rule: 'Treat others how you want to be treated'.
My reas...on for this post is that I have been contacted three times this week from different people asking for info and advice, whom have had rather bad experiences when sending turntables to some other service technicians. This includes some who have even lost their turntables because the 'limited company' they sent them to has folded and the 'technician' legally walked away (with me being a sole trader I take personal responsibility as a lawful entity so you are far more secure). Another 'technician' had a domestic issue and has not been contacting customers having gone completely AWOL - and the third person got busted for drugs (I have never touched drugs in my life) - So always worth checking the integrity and background of the people who you entrust your turntables to - make sure they are fully qualified and a member of a well recognised UK institution.

Remember flightcases are only designed to transport your turntables in, and they should be taken out of the cases when being used. Otherwise, huge feedback problems can occur if you leave them in the cases. Only the feet are meant to make contact with the surface, and nothing else - the sides must not be touching anything. If your turntables have been 'hard wired' into cases then I can revert this back to normal during a service. It is definitely not recommended to have Technics turntables 'hard-wired' into cases regardless of how convenient it makes things.

Pleased to announce that a full service and calibration shall remain at the same price in 2019, which is £125 per turntable including a brand new pitch, audio and ground leads (all genuine parts, and with 12 month warranty!). Need a premium courier service for your turntables?
Companies such as courierexpert.co.uk or anyvan.com can provide a secure dedicated vehicle where your turntables stay on the same van from collection right through to delivery so doesnt pass through delivery depots etc, plus they can even do a same day courier service.
People have used these before and prices can vary depending on driver routes etc, but its getting more competitive and is proven to work very well. You woul...d need to go on the sites mentioned above to obtain a quote - more information on the bottom of the service section at www.technics-service.co.uk which includes a courier guide with the relevant packaging info.
Its worth noting that there is always a risk involved, and over 99% of my customers using normal courier services have not had any damage issues whatsoever.

One good thing about being a full member of the IET and UK Engineering council is direct exclusive contact with original manufacturers around the globe through the IET journal publications. And a couple more Japanese manufacturers have come up on my radar who made original parts for Technics (then owned by matsushita before panasonic). Both electronic component and mechanical parts for the original 1200/1210 models. Fingers crossed, all will be revealed when I get confirmation.

Spaces now available over Christmas for servicing/repairing Technics turntables!!
People have been asking about dropping their turntables off to me here in Weymouth (Dorset) when they are travelling/passing through so I am happy to announce that spaces are now available for servicing.
Same day slots available from 27 Dec upto and including 31st Dec and then from 2nd Jan onwards. You can also drop your decks off and pick them up a day or two after. Plenty to do here in Weymo...uth whilst you wait, with the sales, shopping etc. The only days which I am completely unavailable are Christmas day and New years day.
Boxing day - People can drop their turntables off on boxing day by prior arrangement to collect a day or two later (I wont be carrying out servicing on boxing day due to the inevitable hangover! :D )

Took my tired 25 year old technics to Richie today, and felt totally comfortable leaving them with him for 4-5 hrs. Come back working and sounding mint, great service, genuine Panasonic components. Money well spent, they feel like new, and the kids enjoyed a day in Weymouth also. Highly recommended

Took both my 1210s to Richie for a same day service and bulb replacement. My decks feel like brand new again 20 years on !! Absolutely fantastic service worth every penny

About the only place in the UK where you can have your Technics turntable restored, like it just left the factory. Don’t pay for them to be modded by wannabe engineers and loose performance and value. Speak to Richie first.
