Ridgewood School

An inadequate and poor school, offers a fairly decent education but lacks the support around it, there is an unfair and bias behaviour and sanction system that lacks the qualities of punishment or rights to appeal. The actual school itself is run down and the dinners there are overpriced and don't taste good for such a high price. You are paying 80p for a small gingerbread man and 40p for a tiny bread roll and it costs 10p just for a tiny sachet of sauce which should really be free to school children. You only get 35 minutes to eat which 10 of which are spent queuing and to access the toilets is another 5 or 10 minutes even 15. All in all the school is run down, unfair on the children and just lacks all good qualities at this moment of time. The only good thing in my opinion is some of the teachers. But most are just snobby, rude and completely unfair

Awful school, my daughter is bright and well behaved but still she hates this school. The school needs total reform, it has gone backwards since me and my husband attended, it has become an impersonal, soulless, oppressive school and not forward thinking at all. We need to get rid of people in suits ruining education and implementing pointless 'targets' that get in the way of teachers doing their jobs and put's too much stress on them and the kids and get back to teaching and inspiring, education has become too much about getting 'results'. And don't get me started on the shambolic c1,2,3,4 system! One size does not fit all.

this school is troglodytic and needs to be demolished.

1st November 2016.. Reasons my son has had detention after school are: 1.. teacher made him late for his next lesson, so he received half an hour detention!!

2.. teacher told him to get some shin pads, when he came back she told him hes late and gave him half an hour detention after school!

3.. Couldnt run the full time they wanted in PE. Gave him half an hour detention after school.

4.. knocked a penny off the banister, wasnt even his! 1 hour detention after school!

5.. Bullied by another pupil in a lesson only few feet away from her.. teacher did nothing and gave him half an hour detention after school for having to stand up for himself!!

6.. someone broke a piece of plastic.. He received half an hour detention for being on the same table as the lad that broke it!

These are ridiculous reasons for detentions.. but yet the head of year said i need to look at his behaviour!!

This is the worst school i have ever come across the list of complaints are endless, From a dirty unhealthy canteen, to nasty bullying teachers, who show no compassion for bullied kids.. Their time wasting excuses for wasting parents time after school waiting for kids in detention... And the Local authority know about all of it!! and nothing changes why is this being allowed to happen, are they trying to make kids look bad to excuse the terrible grades!! I think so.. And why have all the lovely teachers gone?! i wonder?

I also guarantee im not the only parent with these concerns in everything i write about.. If you are a parent thinking of sending your child here.. Good Luck! At least youve been warned..

I cant believe how a school can get away with treating some children so badly. Just be aware when sending your child to this school, of their new behavior policy which includes your child receiving c1 c2 c3 then c4s, c4 being the worst. Some children are noting that teachers are abusing the system, and being punished for instances that didn't exactly happen. Children have a right to appeal, but none of the appeals succeed... In lessons childrens hands are being ignored when asking important questions about their work, and some teachers are just rotten. When you phone the school to ask for an appointment to speak regarding situations, you leave a message, then no one rings you back. Complaining to the chair of governors is also a complete waste of time!! I have read, to be very wary of Academy Schools, I would recommend reading about them before making your choice of school. Im sure there are parents out there with exceptional children, that most teachers like and therefore this wont be a problem for you, but I know this isn't the case a lot of the time!! On a lighter note some of the teachers are lovely!! Maybe those teachers should be giving lessons on how to treat children to some of the staff!

It's not working. Simply put time for the head teacher to resign along with there other teaching staff that think
B.f.l is good

It's time to go back to teaching.
And understand the young people
Are all different with many of different personallys and characters and when.you.30 + of them in one room
There will be issues .but the answer is not exclusion .which seems to be the normal . (As in most jobs when.u a have problems at work you have to deal with them;)

Simply put I do not rate the school at allAnd if it was up to me I would launch

It's been a excellent school for my son who recently moved to this school he now has friends and loves going to school now
