About Ridley & Hall Solicitors

An award-winning firm of solicitors, based in Yorkshire, but with a national profile. We are passionate about making a difference to people's lives.

Ridley & Hall Solicitors Description

Ridley & Hall are an award-winning firm of solicitors, based in Yorkshire, but with a national profile. We are passionate about making a difference to people’s lives by being innovative and forward thinking. We care about helping our clients to solve their legal problems. We avoid complicated legal jargon and are clear about the cost involved of any advice that we give.

Ridley & Hall have an excellent Family & Matrimonial and Care Proceedings & Adoption teams which have been recommended for their expertise by the legal publication the Legal 500. We specialise in divorce, financial relief, children, grandparents’ issues and kinship care.

We have nationally-recognised expertise in Community Care Law. We frequently support individuals and families in their challenges to local authorities. We also offer a Welfare Benefits Advice service.

Our Wills & Probate team is here to help you. Ridley & Hall have been recognised as national experts by the publication Legal 500 in probate and trusts.

Unfortunately many people fail to make a will or surviving relatives are not provided for by a will or intestacy. This can often lead to arguments. Our Contentious Probate team specialises in this often complex area of law.

At Ridley & Hall, we recognise that buying or selling a house can be a hugely stressful experience for many people. Our Residential and Commercial Property teams have a friendly and professional approach. We are one of the first firms in the country to gain accreditation in the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme, meeting the highest possible standards for the residential conveyancing process.

Ridley & Hall’s experienced Personal Injury team delivers a friendly service to accident victims and their families. We’re hugely experienced across a wide range of claims, and provide a sympathetic service. We have a particular specialism in accidents involving cyclists.

The reforms to family law are long overdue. For too long the family justice system has been lagging behind the criminal justice system, when it comes to cross examination of victims by perpetrators of abuse. However, it’s not clear how it’s going to be implemented, and we await further information from the Government.

The government has long recognised the need for a #guardianship law to help #families of #missing people. The Guardianship (Missing Persons) Act 2017 will help families who still hope and believe that their loved one is alive and may one day return. Giving #legal power to a #guardian, to prevent a missing person’s home being repossessed (for example) would be hugely helpful to these families. All that’s needed is secondary #legislation; and it is needed now. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-467 57307

#Christmas may seem like a distant memory now, but sometimes the upset encountered during this period isn’t as easy to forget. This could be due to relationship difficulties or disagreements as to how the children should spend their time with their parents and extended #family. #newyear

#Christmas is nearly here! This year we took part in the #reverseavdentcalendar for the benefit of the The Welcome Centre. Food Bank and More in #Huddersfield! Each member of staff was allocated a day to make a donation and we were more than pleased to volunteer at the warehouse to sort out the donations!

Our Sarah Young and Laura Milburn attending Two Gates School in #Slaithwaite!
Twinned with the Mustard Seed Project in #Kyema, #Uganda, Two Gates School in Slaithwaite came up with some interesting fund raising ideas during their school assembly. Laura and Sarah attended last week to take part in the schools assembly, to report on the progress of the children at the school, and to strengthen the links between the children here in Slaithwaite, #Huddersfield, and the children a...t the Mustard Seed Project in Uganda.
Laura visited Uganda last month and took supplies for the #children, and for a number of years the children at Slaithwaite School have written letters to the children at the Mustard Seed School. It is clear that children really are the same the world over. Top of the favourite activities at both schools are #singing and #dancing. Some good suggestions from the children at Slaithwaite about #fundraising ideas including a danceathon, a sports day and a bake off, amongst others. Here at Ridley & Hall we are very proud to support our staff in being part of the Huddersfield Law Society Uganda Twinning Committee. If you want to get involved please do not hesitate to contact Sarah or Laura.
