With over 3000 rescued animals now being cared for at Hillside and ever more unpredictable and extreme weather, which can have a massive effect on our funds, it is reassuring to know that we are blessed with such compassionate and caring supporters.

Further to recent charity fundraising, today it was time to visit the local animal shelter ‘Sunderland Dog & Cat Rescue Centre’ at Ferry Farm Kennels.

What can I say? A job well-done, and fast, too!



Took an Ibanez GIO Series in to be restrung on the spot (as I needed it for practice the following day) and the bloke slotted me in there and then.

Even conditioned my fretboard, cleaned the guitar up and fixed the wonky bridge free of charge, all whilst I got to jam on a rare 1985 Fender Stratocaster as I waited.



Excellent service, and treated my guitar like a princess, too.

Capable hands. Will be going back to get a BC Rich Warlock fixed next!

Just a shame it's so far out of the town centre, I expect many people don't even know of this hidden gem.

I got a Guitar for xmas iv always wanted to learn, iam a complete beginner and didn't really hav a clue but i was trying to tune it when i obviously did something completely wrong because i snapped the 6th string so i looked on line and come across Rif Raff. I can't tell you how brilliant shaun was, i instantly felt comfortable there was 2 young lads in and he was just letting them have a go of the guitars which by the way for having a very small shop he has a lot of them. He fixed it no problem and even showed me a few things he didn't even charge me for his time just for the string and when i gave him more he asked if it was ok for it to go to the animal shelter of a friend he nos istead of him, just lovely, if you love guitars this is the place to go you will get great service and have a great time looking at the amazing guitars he has a treasure trove of a guitar shop 😀

I came to the shop today and had a really nice experience :) The owner was very chilled out and helpful, and let me try a few different guitars before making a purchase, I was made to feel really comfortable in the shop and didn't feel pressurised into buying a guitar like you do in some shops where they stand over you and ask after 5mins if your going to buy it. The owner also re strung and set up the guitar so it played perfectly. the best experience i think ive had in a music shop period !
