Last month Rigging Services were asked to carry out a rather spectacular installation, we were asked to install, the moon!
This impressive design was created by Artist Luke Jerram for his presentation 'Museum of the Moon'. This exhibit is touring all over the world & we were excited to be given the opportunity to be involved in bringing Lukes creation to life at the recent 'Timber Festival' in Derbyshire.
We suspended the moon, measuring 7 metres in diameter, amongst th...e trees within The National Forest, once the moon was partially off the ground it was inflated before being hoisted & secured into it's required position. The internally lit sculpture features detailed NASA photographs of the moons surface, the lights as well as a fan to keep the moon inflated needed to be installed within the moon itself so someone literally had to become 'The Man in the Moon'!
