Good Day folks, we had great fun on the weekend once we were finally open and we're looking forward to serving up loads more delicious Potato Rosti, Raclette, Slow Braised Shin Beef, Pork Goulash, Chestnuts, Local Ales, Ciders, Festive Hot Toddies, Jager Tee and Festive Cheer over the coming weeks!

STEAMER LODGE & ROSTI BAR
OPENS 3PM TODAY!
We’re super excited to announce that we’ve pulled together a few of the The Steamer team back together to create a series of small, intimate festive weekends to Riley’s Quayside Shack and have a super selection of craft beers, ciders hot festive drinks and win on the drinks menu turning the shack into a cosy Lodge for the festive period!! The food will be alpine inspired and centred around the mighty and moorish potato rosti which wi...ll come with a variety of fillings, toppings and sauces from Raclette to Morel Mushroom sauce and much more!
Outside will be some seating for when the weather is being kind and we hope to have a few braziers to toast off some marshmallows.
We’re joined by Ojay all weekend who’ll be providing a soundtrack outside, Deja Brew on Saturday and Rob Heron Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra will be picking the playlist for Sunday. Beers will be provided by Wylam, Three Kings, Almasty, Northern Alchemy, Two by Two and more.
Newcastle Wood recycling will be bringing along some their lovely reclaimed wood furniture and Andy McDermott will be toasting Chestnuts surrounded by his steam punk artwork.
The pop up will run every weekend until the end of the festive season and we’ll be open for business a number of weekdays too which we’ll announce soon.
In the meantime, pop down to say hello and have a pint and a rosti with us!

As you may have already heard the residency of Barrio Comida at our Quayside Shack has drawn to a close and yesterday they cooked their very last taco! We had a blast guys and will miss the tacos for sure!
We're now on the look out for our next resident chefs, so if you have an idea or are trading already and would like a crack at it please get in touch and share your idea with us!
Residencies can be long or short and would fit in with our ethos of quality food with no frills...!
It's likely that Riley's Fish Shack will be back for a spell next summer to join in with the Great Exhibition of the North 2018 antics so stay tuned!

BARRIO COMIDA QUAYSIDE TACO TAKE-OVER.. NOW OPEN!
We're delighted to announce that Barrio Comida are moving in for a somewhat longer residency that the last time!
Following the super sell-out Taco take-over back in June, Barrio are back... for the foreseeable!
... We've been working with founder Shaun Hurrell who has been grafting away (with a little help from handy Andy Mac (our amazing grafter and metal man who we've been working with since Riley's Fish Shack and The Steamer began) modifying the quayside shack (it's almost there, just a few modifications to be made) into a more winter-friendly space with heating and everything!
The delightful Taco Shack opens this evening (from 5pm) with an amazing selection of Taco's, Mexican Inspired cocktails, Beers & Vibes.
Shaun Hurrell, the culinary magician, has worked at some of the countries finest restaurants and chefs including Fergus Henderson of St. John and Marcus Waring as well as the local Jesmond Dene House.
More recently Shaun put the Durham based Flat White Cafe on the map with his food and now has put all his energy into creating the most fabulous Tacos in Newcastle City Centre.

Sorry folks, Due to staffing issues we're closing the quayside early as of today! With staff leaving and the imminent arrival of the newest addition to the Riley family this is, unfortunately, unavoidable.
