Risby Park Fishing Ponds (Fishing Dawn Till Dusk) & Folly Lake Cafe

Bins overflowing with rubbish... Staff I find rude in the cafe and when collecting money from around the lake... Very over crowded with a lot of the pegs being so close together... Give it a miss.

Great place to go after a long walk with the dog. It's dog friendly and they sell cake...what more can you ask for?

The chips at this spot are a must have too. Delicious.

On arrival it seems quite pleasant but, after ordering tea coffee and 2 slices of cake you come to the sudden realisation that it's quite expensive. £11 is more than I would pay for the equivalent at most other similar places in the area. The wait between ordering was also longer than expected. Having been brought someone else's order then sitting for a further 25 minutes before going to ask where the order was, being ignored for 5 minutes stood at the desk and a further 10 minutes for the order to arrive, what should have been a pleasant drink in the sunshine turned into a tedious waste of time and disappointment.

I took my 4yo daughter today for a walk around the lake as a previous review stated they'd done this. We where dissapointed to be told you're not allowed to walk around the lake unless you're going fishing. Staff where politely apologetic but stated you are not allow to walk around even if there is no one fishing the lake.
The place seemed like a nice place to eat, great location etc, but only go if you're fishing or using the café. Not a place for nature walks or feeding ducks with little ones, which is fair enough as I'm sure the fishing people, who pay to be there, don't want kids around.

Stumbled across this place whilst driving passed. Called into the café for a coffee and a cake. Great service and lovely cake.
