What a little gem of a place. I’m so glad I’d seen it on Facebook as I would not have expected to find a place like this on Mill Lane! We called in for a coffee and decided to have lunch. The staff were friendly and the food was fresh and tasty. I had a bacon butty and the bacon was really lean. My husband had the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. The eggs were perfectly poached and served with plenty of smoked salmon. The finely diced side dish of onion and peppers was fresh and crisp. It was only after eating it we realised the hollandaise sauce was missing but it had all been so tasty it wasn’t missed.



We were surprised that there was live music on a Sunday afternoon. Ruth sang music by the Carpenters and Crystal Gayle which I loved (songs of my youth) and I was sorry we had to leave rather than hear the rest of her set!



We will definitely return and try other dishes from the menu.

Went there Friday night, they had live low key music that allowed us to talk without shouting. The music was good. The staff where outstanding, very attentive and switched on. The venue itself is one of the best I've been to on the Wirral in a long time, we felt like it was like a small friendly bar somewhere abroad. Good luck to the owners who have strived to make this a place that's different from the rest with a brilliant atmosphere, and in my opinion they have achieved this, well done!!! We will be back.

Walked past the other day and noticed how busy it was. Promised myself that i'd go in and try it. All those people weren't wrong. Can't believe this little gem is just around the corner from me!

Popped in yesterday and had the best breakfast for a long time with unlimited 'proper' coffee. Absolutely made up the food, atmosphere and level of service. Just brilliant. Can't wait to go back and try out the rest of the menu.

Visited today for lunch. I had the three burger sliders. To my suprise my absolute favourite was the haloumi and courgette...amazing! The chips were gorgeous too...super fresh and tasty food so we will be back soon!

Visited this afternoon with a friend for lunch and i would highly recommend this bistro/restaurant. So chilled & very stylist. Staff are very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The food was absolutely amazing and really reasonable for what u get. Nice to have something like this locally. Will definately be back. See u all again soon :) xx

Staff where super friendly, tried the new salted caramel iced mocha on the waitresses recommendation and it did not disappoint. Great to see such a cool little independent bringing something different to wallasey. Me and Sonny will be back to visit soon �

Last night was the 3rd night I’ve been to eat here. Having tried the Sunday vegetarian roast dinner, the breakfast and last night the tapas. No complaints so far, the food is delicious and the atmosphere lovely and relaxed. Slowly becoming one of my favourite little places to eat.

Just had the most amazing meal here tonight along with my 6 family members, not a bad meal in sight! 100% recommend it to anyone! Such lovely staff too!

I love this place. Best coffee I've ever had and so relaxed. The staff are always a pleasure, very polite and cheerful. I love the vegan food and I think this is up there with one of my favourite places to eat.

I love it since I first went to Rise and Grind for my 28th Birthday meal nearly three weeks ago I literally love the food they have there and love it when I go in for a bite to eat I think the customer service is brilliant and I think they have got helpful staff which seems to listen to the customers if they need help which I like. It's certainly the best restaurant I've ever been to and I can't wait to go back again

Had a wonderful business lunch meeting here today... first visit, and what an amazing place right on our doorstep here in Liscard. Service was excellent, food amazing, and the interior is really fresh, stylish and comfortable. Certainly recommend you pay a visit - we'll definitely be going back to check out more of the menu.

Food is delicious staff are very friendly and care even the chef said to me if I wanted any think that wasn't there he would accommodate love the fact it's healthy grilled you walk in and out and don't smell of fat a gem of a place see you in the morning yum yum

Came here today with my 9 month old son, who was very well looked after nothing was to much trouble a lovely clean hi chair and i was given a jug of hot water to heat his bottle up which i had been refused in costa!!! So glad we came today the lunch was lovely too, will defiantly be back, Wish you lots of luck with your business x

Been wanting to try out this venue when I first seen it getting renovated, The crushed velvet seats caught my eye and the fact that we don’t really have many independent businesses in liscard area!



So finally gave it a try today, the staff were lovely, really helpful and patient with us. I had my little boy with me, who let’s just say is a little excitable hahaa, but the staff weren’t even phased by us. Today we just popped in for coffee and cake which was lovely, so after having a pleasant visit today, I know I will definitely be back to try something off the menu.

A true gem in Wallasey! My friend and I came here last night and ordered off the tapas menu. Portion sizes were generous, food was amazing and well priced. Staff were attentive and even came out with a cake to wish me a happy birthday! Will definitely be back!! Thank you!

I’ve held off on writing this, in fact, I wasn’t going to bother, but if you don’t say anything how can they know...? Honestly, I was disappointed.



I had seen the excellent reviews on here and had high expectations. As a vegan I’m always excited to discover new vegan friendly places, particularly those that are local and look pretty stylish. I wanted it to be good, I truly did, but I’m reminded of a book I read as a little kid “The Emperor’s New Clothes”.



I had a few soya lattes, which were perfectly fine, passable, but what I was most disappointed with was the food; the vegan BLT. I was expecting something magnificent, based upon the reviews on here, but honestly, it wasn’t even average. I’m pretty confident that there was one piece of aubergine ‘bacon’, along with one piece each of the L and T. The bread was pretty meagre and weighing in at that price (about £8? My sister paid for me) I felt bad that she had forked out for something that was so below par.



Maybe I need to work on my own expectations, or maybe Rise & Grind needs to work on the quality, quantity and presentation? I’m not sure. I honestly thought it was all passable, but for the prices they’re charging I’d expect a firm good.



I didn’t want this to be a scathing review, I wanted this place to be my new favourite vegan friendly eatery, but it just wasn’t. Maybe it’s teething problems? I just hope someone takes notice of this and works on the place fulfilling its great potential.



3 stars for putting vegan stuff on the menu and the decor. It would be great if you could take this as constructive feedback. Best of luck.
