We've added an extra sparkle to one of our tours!!😁🙌 --------------- ✨🌍Vietnam & Cambodia with Laos Extension🌍✨
Visit the major sights of Vietnam and Cambodia, the very essence of Indochina. Experience the captivating blend of mist-shrouded mountains, vibrant green forests, a patch-work of rice paddies and pristine white beaches, whilst its floating villages and bustling cities are custodians of the culture and monuments of a unique 2,000 year old civilisation.
... Explore Luang Prabang, a small and gentle town in Laos, which was once the royal capital of the country. Surrounded by cascading waterfalls, scaling peaks, luscious greenery and the milky brown waters of the Mekong River, it is a soothing and tranquil setting, not to mention the main centre for Buddhist learning in Laos.
During your time in Luang Prabang, you will get the chance to see and even partake if you wish, in the early morning ritual of ‘Tak Bat’, or offering alms to the monks, a tradition providing some wonderful photo opportunities.
You’ll also get the chance to explore the fascinating night markets, visit magnificent temples, see some traditional rice-wine making and weaving. Enjoy a private boat trip along the Mekong to the Pak Ou caves and visit Kuang Si waterfall, where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the many turquoise pools and walk along the woodland trails, which is adjacent to a bear rescue centre who protect the rare Asiatic black bear. --------------- Find out more⤵️ https://www.rivieratravel.co.uk/…/vietn am-cambodia-with-lao…

A Good Watch!!✨📺✨ --------------- Put your feet up this evening and enjoy – Eight Go Rallying: The Road to Saigon on BBC Two at 9pm. --------------- The celebrity duos are hurtling through Cambodia, a drive that’s like a constant game of chicken as a result of terrifying overtaking by the locals. As time goes on, there’s less emphasis on it actually being a race (although Noel Edmonds and his wife are still hellbent on winning), allowing time for plenty of side trips.
... The celebrity pairs stop off at a market selling insects (a staple diet during the Khmer Rouge reign of terror) and a wildlife sanctuary, but it’s their visit to the Killing Fields and the notorious prison where only seven of the 20,000 prisoners survived, that profoundly affects them.
This is a great series to watch and it will give you a great insight into our Vietnam & Cambodia tour, so if you’re thinking about joining us on our tour, this is definitely one to watch! --------------- If you have missed the first two episodes you can catch up on BBC iPlayer.

📖😊RELAX AND HAVE A READ!😊📖 --------------- 🌎✨CANADA'S ROCKY MOUNTAINEER TOUR✨🌎
Yvonne - a member of our Long Haul Product team ... joined clients on one of our Canada tours and is keen to share her experience...
"It was the first time I’d been to Canada, I knew it would be more modern than some of countries I’d been to recently, but like other travel enthusiasts, I tend to keep a very open mind when visiting new places.
Something that really struck me, was how friendly the people are. At one point I was walking around Calgary and I’d stopped to look at my map, immediately two young ladies were right beside me asking if I needed any help – this was gladly welcomed!
Whether it was hotels, restaurants or shops, the staff were always happy to have a chat and seemed very positive about where they lived. There is no shortage of restaurants and cuisine to choose from and of course I had to try an Alberta Steak, which was delicious.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from spending 2 days onboard the Rocky Mountaineer, apart from being told the scenery was superb. It was truly breathtaking and I’ve never experienced anything like it before - from snow-capped peaks and rivers so clear you could see the bottom, to endless forests and desert terrain. To top it off the hosts on board kept us all entertained with stories about the history of the areas we travelled through and provided a constant supply of refreshments and some truly scrumptious meals.
Lake Louise was to die for! I’ve seen so many Instagram photos of this beautiful lake, but to be able to stand there and capture that moment for myself was incredible, it was such a surreal experience.
Banff town was another highlight of my trip. It was such a lovely place, picturesque and easy enough to walk around, with their pretty streets and wide pavements. Banff Avenue is full of chateaux style hotels, restaurants and shops and I was quite happy to spend my day browsing around these, picking up gifts and chatting to the locals.
You need to go if you can! It was a fantastic experience and refreshing to have been able to mix with our Riviera clients. I can confidently say that I’ll be visiting Canada again. I may even do this tour again, but with the Alaska cruise extension." --------------- Find out more⤵️ https://www.rivieratravel.co.uk/…/canad a-s-rocky-mountainee…

Ms Vincent has kindly shared her thoughts with us on her recent trip to Puglia, Lecce & Vieste😊 --------------- ✨🌎This was another excellent experience with Riviera. The itinerary was well thought-out and very interesting, the local guides were expert, and two of the three hotels were very good. The restaurants that we ate in on several occasions were very good, with delicious local food and drink, and speedy friendly service.
Our Riviera guide, Paula, was just brilliant. Everything worked like clockwork, and we learned so much from her - she wears her learning lightly, but she is extremely well-informed about Italian life, history, and culture, and all was delivered with a smile.🌎✨

A problem shared is a problem halved…🤗 --------------- Here at Riviera Travel we genuinely care about making people feel valued and happy. This is one of the reasons for the past ten years, we have been supporting a truly commendable charity – Hope and Homes for Children.
Hope and Homes for Children is a British registered charity who have been working tirelessly to become the catalyst for the global elimination of institutional care for children!
... It's hard to believe in this day and age, and in the face of such overwhelming evidence, such institutions are even remotely accepted as childcare in so many countries. Hope and Homes for Children work in eight countries in Central and Eastern Europe and Africa and are creating the conditions to end the institutionalisation of children for good. And for that we are proud to continue to support them. ---------------
"To move one child from an institution into a loving family environment costs on average just £600 with a far better outcome for that child’s future. To help this worthy cause Riviera Travel will continue to donate £1 for every person who travels with us and we invite you to match this so that we raise even more funds."
- Michael Wright, Founder, Riviera Travel
--------------- To support the charity’s course further, our IT and Business Transformations teams, alongside our Managing Director, will be taking part in the Autumn Wolf Run challenge, to try and raise £2000.

Malta is a unique and fascinating place to visit, with so much to discover! Its temples are the world’s oldest buildings, pre-dating the pyramids by a thousand years. Many visitors to this wonderful island never experience its undiscovered side, but on this tour we feel we have created a superb balance of interests ranging from a wonderfully varied history, unique scenery and atmospheric old towns, all in an ideal destination in which ...to relax. first time with Riviera - first time on an "organised" holiday!.Unforgettable!

Short visit to Krakow -Travelling on my own was no handicap. Asia, your rep was ideal. Obviously a very experienced guide but much more than that, she completely runs the show without being pushy. Nothing taken for granted she is articulate, very knowledgeable , patient and generally great fun.

Hotel and transfers -faultless. (aside from the safe in my room which did not work!)

Initial preconceived reservations I might have had - completely dispelled. I will be reviewing your brochure again in a few weeks. Perhaps something bit more adventurous this time.

Well done to the whole team!

The commitment to ensure everyone has an amazing time. The organisational skills that guarantees the visits and trips are perfectly timed. The wonderful tour managers who work tirelessly with such tremendous knowledge and patience. The fantastic hotels that Riviera always choose with such care. The use of local guides who can dispense such interesting and unusual information. I could go on.... Riviera you are simply the best.

Just home after fantastic Classical Spain tour calling in at Mijas, Ronda, Seville where we took advantage of the additional Cooking class where we made a 4 course meal for our lunch Delicious, Cordoba and finally to Granada.

Each city had marvellous tours and Tour Guide Andy was very informative and helpful throughout and handed us to local guides for the more impressive historical buildings, they were Mirriam and Lola.

I would recommend this tour for anyone interested in the history of Spain.

User

Just got back from an amazing tour of Rajasthan, The Taj Mahal, & Amritsar's Golden Temple with Riviera Travel. It was a fantastic tour and we saw and did so much in the two weeks! There were too many highlights to list and even though I'd read the itinerary carefully was still amazed at how much was crammed in. I would add that Gill (Tour Manager) and Kunal (Tour Guide) were both excellent.

They were helpful and knowledgeable and, when situations and plans can change at the drop of a turban, were calm, organised and professional.

The tour was full on from day one but got a little easier towards the end - and the two night stays were very welcome.

I would thoroughly recommend Riviera Travel and look forward to future trips with them.

User

Just got back from an amazing 4 Day Visit to Kraków, Poland with Riviera Travel. Usually an Independent World Traveller with my Wife & Pre-Teen Son, this was a Solo Trip for me, a Part-Time Historian, with a wish to one day Visit Auschwitz & Birkenau - a visit I will never forget, handled with knowledge & appropriate sensitivity by an Expert Local Guide provided through Riviera. Kraków exceeded all my expectations, a truly beautiful historic City. The Novotel Centrum Hotel in Kraków selected by Riviera, with its Funky Vibe, Friendly Staff & Delicious Breakfast was awesome. I cannot speak highly enough of our Riviera Tour Guide, Karoline, who was with us from Arrival at Kraków Airport to Departure, a friendly mine of information, & who lead a superb Guided Tour of Kraków. Karoline a native of Kraków also organised Amazing Guides who provided us with Tours of the Salt Mines outside Kraków , an Underground World to behold, and a fabulous Tour of the Jewish Quarter of Kraków including my first ever visit to a Synagogue. To round off an excellent Holiday Package we travelled throughout our time in Poland in a Modern Coach with an excellent Driver. A Short Holiday that I would recommend to anyone.

User

Just got back from a wonderful tour of Classical Spain. Everything was great from start to finish, would highly recommend Riviera Travel!! Clive is an excellent rep with excellent knowledge, maps provided for each town/city, tips and hints given for each place, some unplanned events but everything dealt with professionally and minimum disruption. Great people on the trip, very comfy coach with lots of leg room. Lovely hotels each with pros and cons but overall very good, buffet breakfasts, a really good mix of tours and free time. Well worth the money paid and would def use the company again. Thanks Riviera.

User

Just back from the India tour of the golden triangle and Shimla. I was overwhelmed by how good this was. To see the Taj Mahal, Amber Fort, tigers in the wild and the Himalayas in the space of 2 weeks was absolutely incredible and made a big dent in my bucket list! I was really impressed by what was included in the tour and the extras which I really hadn’t expected. Our Tour Manager Matt made it for us. He was so witty, kind, well organised, flexible when needed and made us feel safe at all times but most of all he had great sensitivity to the Indian people. His ‘bus bazaar’ to intermediate between us and the hawkers was a real highlight - performed very tongue in cheek but an example of how he tries to put something back and we all bought a whole heap of bargains!

User

Just back from Lake Maggiore, our 10th holiday with Riviera. Guess we must like your tours!!! Our tour manager Wendy was excellent as was our driver Vitale. We stayed at the Regina Palace and Mauro, our head waiter, was fantastic. We were lucky to be sat on a table of 8 for breakfast and dinner with 4 other "Yorkies" and our adopted Yorkshire friends from London. Our trips out were amazing, the only slight downside was we didn't quite see all of the Matterhorn. We can't wait for our next trip. We're off to Peru in October. Can't wait.

User

Just arrived back from "Classical Spain" - absolutely wonderful. All 3 hotels were top notch and well-situated for what was needed. Can't praise tour-guide Sharon enough - knows her stuff and had just the right attitude. Friendly but not over-familiar. All visits to the landmarks were well thought-out and properly organized with great attention to detail. Would definitely recommend this travel company and tour.

User

I went to Bruges for my first solo holiday, it was great weather, great tours and some great people. I would definitely go back to see the bits I missed. I loved the chocolates and might need to take an empty suitcase to fill up.

User

I have just returned from a riviera holiday in Namibia. It was so well organised and everything ran smoothly. The hotels and desert lodges we stayed in were clean and comfortable and the food was good. The extra excursions of the living desert and the trip on the catamaran were amazing and worth doing, especially to be able to see seals and pelicans up close on the boat. Thank you to Karen who was a brilliant tour manager too. I would totally recommend this holiday and I have come away with some fantastic memories. The highlight of the trip was seeing a black rhino by the side of the road in Etosha national park and some lion cubs.

User

Great week on the Lord Byron traveling through Provence and Burgundy.

The Riviera reps Glenda and Angus were great. The crew were kind helpful and very hardworking. The room was comfortable and clean and the food excellent.

The guides on the trips were knowledgeable and had excellent English.

It was an excellent holiday

User

Overall I had a great holiday on the Mekong River cruise. We had a very good Riviera rep who guided us to local places to eat or shop in the city stays. The boat had excellent food, super friendly staff and very knowledgeable, fun local tour guides, usually with small groups of about 16 of us. They showed us so many different aspects of life and culture in both Vietnam and Cambodia. The cruise director organised excellent evening films and local entertainments.

For the Angkor Wat trip I was disappointed not to get up early to see the sunrise as suggested in the brochure. However, I realised that the cloudy sky would have limited the experience somewhat. Our group of about 30 was too large and the local guide, who was not as much fun as our previous guides, did not have a microphone set (possibly not allowed at Angkor). We went in from the back at around 8.00 a.m., where it was quiet, but then had to see the splendour of the entrance on the way out. We saw the three main temple areas in the very large complex, had an excellent lunch in an air conditioned room, and were back at the hotel by 3.00 p.m. in our two small coaches. I would have liked Riviera to provide a small guide book and map. A preparatory talk with slides, or a visit to the National Museum in Siem Reap, would have helped to prepare us for the Angkor trip. I also would have liked to get up very early and go by tuk tuk to allow me to look at things at my own pace and to stay longer. Perhaps Riviera could make this part of the tour much more flexible and give more choices? Or use tuk tuks instead of coaches? If not, then at least two local guides are necessary to ensure a continued small group experience. This was the only negative part of the whole holiday.

User

Just returned from the Sorrento trip. Really enjoyed it. Jenny is an excellent tour manager and full of knowledge. Lovely person too. Just loved Herculaneum, Pompeii and the Naples Museum. Worth the early starts. Capri was great too and the day on the Amalfi Coast. Busy holiday with lots of walking and steps but well worth the effort. Good local guides. Stayed at the Europa Palace. Glorious position on the cliffs and the best views ever.

User

Went on the Croatia Dubrovnik tour very good itinerary but I thought the hotels were not as good as I thought they would be food in first one not much choice room very much like a Travelodge second fantastic food but room no balcony both rooms looked out onto one trees and road the other trees and car park chris our tour guide was great so was Mario our driver I would have liked less time on coach seemed sitting for long spells and getting up at 4 o clock to go back to split airport for home travel when Dubrovnik airport was near by great people on coach but they were all a bit grumpy getting up that early to go home I think the first hotel because they had on this medical meeting will we we were there we got shifted out of the main restaurant they seemed to taken over all the foyer downstairs we had a welcome drink just standing outside our restaurant would have been nice if they set aside room for us

User

Last November we went on our first guided coach holiday to Sorrento with Riviera. It was fantastic and on the back of it we booked the Florence and Tuscany tour from which we have just returned. The location, hotels and food were probably even better than Sorrento and I would recommend anyone to visit this beautiful part of Italy. However the whole experience was somewhat spoilt by the Riviera guide who seemed out of touch with the area, sending us to places that were closed, abandoning us in incorrect queues for major attractions, making inappropriate comments and generally not being on top of the organisational detail. A great shame.

User

I have been on seven cruises with Jules Verne, Celebrity, Princess and Shearings and I can honestly say my experience with Riviera has been the worst of them all. I have just returned from a Rhone Cruise. They are very inflexible with travel plans when we wished to stay on after the cruise - unlike all of the other companies mentioned above. Our return Euro Star Ticket went to waste and it cost us an additional £300.00 to buy another ticket. The cruise ship itself was good and the staff were excellent (not Riviera staff though). The transfer from the Eurostar to Parrs Lille was a nightmare and we missed the connection. Our rep then left us in the station whilst she tried to sort alternative train tickets and left us for over 45 mins with no update. She asked me and another guest to keep the group together (not my job I am a guest but I did it anyway). The rep did not have any consideration for older members of the group (I think we were the youngest couple) and walked very fast leaving guests struggling at the back who ended up getting on the wrong carriage as they lost sight of the group. I helped 6 ladies lift their bags on to the train as they were struggling, they later commented that if it had not been for the assistance that I gave them they would not have known what to do - this was not a problem for me as I will not watch people struggle but the rep had already got on the train leaving them on the platform. On the way back at the station the rep did not know where to pick the coach up from at Paris Lille and seemed very disorganised as though she had not done the trip before. Then on the coach, she told us of all the problems that Riviera had had with coaches before so this appears not to be a one-off. Very poor Riviera and I will not be travelling with you again when I have had such good cruise experiences elsewhere.

Can't wait.

I went to Bruges for my first solo holiday, it was great weather, great tours and some great people. I would definitely go back to see the bits I missed. I loved the chocolates and might need to take an empty suitcase to fill up.
