Rnb Personal Training Description

I offer gym, home or outdoor based personal training in and around Seahouses, Northumberland. Personal training can be taken on an individual basis or as a small group*. I also do body analysis, fitness testing and provide quality nutrition and dietary advice.

I have over 18 years experience in the health and fitness industry and I am a fully qualified Level 3 Advanced Personal Trainer and First Aid Trained.

My Golden Rules To Weight Training рҹ§җ
KEEP IT SIMPLE... Start with a couple of basic compound moves which target multiple muscle groups (think PUSH, PULL & SQUAT)
REMEMBER... It's not WHAT you lift but HOW you lift (it's more beneficial to complete 8 reps with great form than 12 poor reps, where the weight is to heavy and you are lifting like you've entered into a body 'poppin' competition рҹҳӮ)
... ALWAYS... Look for quality over quantity. Aim to lift with good technique, keep a record of what you're lifting and the type of session your doing, look to progress in each session whether that be increased reps, sets or weight (see my post on PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD) and don't think you have to do a million and one exercises each session рҹҷ„ 3-5 exercises, around 40-50 minutes per session is a good bench mark.

MACHINES or FREE WEIGHTS рҹӨ”... Use BOTH the bigger you make your exercise library and increase your knowledge of weight training the more you will enjoy it and keep your sessions varied. You may also be more comfortable performing a certain exercise on a fixed machine than you are with dumbbells/barbells or vice versa рҹ‘Ң
ASK, ASK and finally ASK рҹ’¬... Don't be afraid to ask for help, most gym's will have qualified instructor's who are on hand to assist you with your training plan and demonstrate the correct form and technique of how to perform each lift.
Better still invest in a Personal Trainer who will take you to the next level with their expertise and knowledge of advanced training principles. The role of your PT should be to coach, educate, motivate and most of all give you ALL the tools you need to able to go and train alone with confidence and the ability to keep moving forward with your training.

When you are at the gym do you prefer to just crack on and do your own thing or would you prefer to have a Personal Trainer work with you to push, coach and motivate you рҹӨ”
Well I know personal training isn't for everyone or sometimes financially viable for some on top of a gym membership etc.
... BUT...

What is Progressive Overload рҹӨ”
This principle involves continually increasing the demands on the musculoskeletal system to continually make gains in muscle size, strength, and endurance. Simply put, in order to get bigger and stronger, you must continually make your muscles work ha...rder than they're used to. Most often, that means increasing the resistance, but as you'll find below, there are other methods to increasing the overload.
Conversely, if the demands on the target muscle groups are not at least maintained or are actually decreased, your muscles will atrophy, losing size and strength.
Progressive overload is a very simple but crucial concept, laying the foundation upon which successful resistance training is built.
The progressive overload principle doesn't apply just to lifting weights to increase muscle growth and strength; it can also be applied to cardiovascular-fitness programs, creating physiological changes that affect aerobic metabolism and the cardiorespiratory system. рҹ§җ
