About Rnli-Burnham On Crouch

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea.

Rnli-Burnham On Crouch Description

Burnham-on-Crouch has had a lifeboat station in the town for over 40 years. We are also one of only three stations in the country to have both boats kept in floating boathouses.

We have two boats – one being an Atlantic 85 B849, the ‘Tony & Robert Britt’. This boat arrived on station in August 2011. We also have an IB1, the ‘Ernest & Rose Chapman II’. This boat arrived on station in February 2007.

Having outgrown the station at the eastern end of the town, the existing station was built in 1997 at the western end of the town in the new marina. At the same time, the floating boathouses were also situated in the marina to house the Atlantic and the D-class, with the addition of a larger boathouse to accommodate the new Atlantic 85 arriving in 2011.

Why not come along to our annual Carol Service.
We are looking to fill St Mary’s to the rafters with our volunteer crew, station management, our lovely supporters and all friends and family for a fantastic evening of festive carols, music and readings.
If that doesn’t tempt you perhaps some generously sponsored mulled wine and mince pies will.

Hope all goes well for tomorrow.

You may remember seeing on #SavingLivesAtSea the moment Thames Clipper worker Holly’s display of bravery saved a man’s life. This experience in turn changed Holly's, as it inspired her to become a volunteer at TowerRNLI and help save more lives.

Sir William Hillary founded the RNLI in 1824.
Since then our crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,400 lives.
We are separate from the coastguard and independent of government.
