Rock Choir Liverpool, Southport, Ormskirk, Birkenhead & West Kirby Description
Rock Choir started in 2005 and has grown into what the Sunday Times has described as 'a national phenomenon'. The success is built on offering our members dynamic, engaging and friendly weekly rehearsals delivered by talented and dedicated local musicians. As well as getting involved in local performances at the heart of their own communities our members have enjoyed some truly unique experiences such as live national events at The Liverpool Echo Arena and The O2 Arena in London.
The Merseyide branch of the choir have gone from stregth to strength under the direction of Anthony Seaman, the choir leader since 2013. They have performed in some stunning venues, such as the ACC in Liverpool, The Blackpool Tower Ballroom and The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, and with over 500 members across the region, they have become both a powerful musical force and a massive and socially active community.
They have raised tens of thoudands of pounds for a diverse range of charities but locally in Meseryside, nationally and internationally.

We had a great day helping launch the upcoming Race for Life events and entertaining the crowds in Liverpool City Centre. Over 150 members across three spots took part - here’s the 11am squad looking fabulous 🤩
Lots of performing debuts today and some stellar solos too!
Well done everyone!
This Anthony had fun on secondment to Rock Choir Greater Manchester East & Macclesfield leading their members while their Anthony is off lounging it in Malta! 🇲🇹 🏖 ☀️
Two great rehearsals so far this week, Southport rounding of the term with a blast through lots of repertoire, and Birkenhead getting round the Grand Piano for a few numbers. Lovely stuff 😊
Some pics from our visit to Halton Haven Hospice last Friday - a great time had by all!
Great day learning a great song with very talented people!
Been wanting to teach this song for so long and you definitely all did it justice - fabulous dramatic, operatic and rock god-like sounds - Well done everyone!
I had such a great time - will sleep well tonight though!

Zak Langford-Do and Chris Jones will make up 2/5 of our live band at our Liverpool Philharmonic shows in June, but amongst their numerous other musical escapades they are also 2/3 of local outfit Skinners Lane - and they have new music out on Spotify. Click below to have a listen:

Great week welcoming in the official start of spring by polishing up a bit of Mr Blue Sky - it's sounding impressive across the choirs!
The song has been given a bit of new lease of life by Guardians of the Galaxy 2 recently - my 8yo son started learning to play it on the piano this week - it's one of his faves!
🤩🎹⭐️
In case you missed it, here’s the piece on Rock Choir from the I newspaper and website from last weekend... https://inews.co.uk/…/rock-choir-caroli ne-redman-lush…/amp/…
Tomorrow's sessions in West Kirby and Liverpool are unfortunately CANCELLED as choir leader Anthony currently has a voice that sounds like a certain embattled PM.
Sorry everyone!

Brilliant work by Birkenhead tonight. Worked you hard but you smashed it! 💪🏻
Southport - great start to week 8!
Mr Blue Sky sounding awesome along with Dreams, Footloose and Can’t Stop the Feeling.
Well done!
Had a terrific afternoon auditioning soloists for our shows at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall in June.
Between our own choirs and Cheshire Rock Choir we have an awful lot of talent!
Games were raised, comfort zones were pushed and the standard was very, very high!
... And now we have some very difficult decisions to make!
Well done everyone!

You read all these fantastic reviews and think, really?? And the answer is, yes, really! Go for a free taster session and you too will be hooked-it's simply the best ( see what I did there? )
What's not to like - a great crowd of people, a great selection of songs, a great leader, Anthony Seaman, a great way to de-stress. Joining Rock Choir is certainly the best thing I have ever done. Makes me feel alive. Love it.
This choir is just amazing.. I've been in it 6 years now. I've made so many special friends.. best thing i ever did.. Its helped me through some really difficult life experiences. Thanks to our leader Anthony xxx
The best thing I have ever done was to go along at the end of last Summer for a taster session after previously booking two and cancelling the night before I was due to go as I felt too nervous. It is the most fabulous experience ever and the songs are fantastic and our wonderful leader Anthony Seaman is amazing. The friendly and helpful members make it so easy to feel at home very quickly. Truly a life changing thing to do which is full of wonderful events and there is never any pressure to perform in public but the opportunities are there if you want them. Rock Choir is fantastic.
The best hobby ever! Uplifting experience with great people, a fab choir leader and a good mixture of songs. Unbelievable opportunities to perform in places and at events I could only ever have dreamed of previously. Never looked back after first session. Can’t recommend highly enough!
Rock choir is the absolute best!
It has the absolute best song choices, such a friendly group of people and the performance opportunities and venues are amazing! (although you could be singing anywhere from Blackpool Tower, High 5'ing some 10k runners or supporting an animal charity in a muddy tent filled with straw! Anything goes!)
If you're considering rock choir I'd say absolutely go for it. Best decision I ever made.
Anthony (the leader) is absolutely fantastic and makes you feel (along with the prefects) so welcome, he makes the songs easy to learn and understand how to be technically spot on.
What a great, feelgood hobby!
Rock Choir is music therapy - it’s good for the soul, and brilliant fun! You sing your cares away every week and are part of a team full of like minded people. Excellent choir leader and excellent songs
My first Rock Choir home- just loved it! Have relocated now and go to Rock Choir in Lewes, but there’s always a warm welcome when I’m back in Liverpool & I love to keep in touch.
Joining Rock Choir is one of the best things l have done .The friends l have made are so special and after a gig l feel on a high .Our leader the special Anthony Seaman l have never in my life seen anyone as talented as him he makes us the choir we are without him we are nothing but together we Rock
Joining Rock Choir is one of the best things I have ever done. Meeting a group of fabulous friends every week, learning fantastic arrangements of rock & pop songs, the patient teaching of our awesome leader Anthony, the amazing opportunities to perform at Wembley, Liverpool Arena, Philharmonic, Atkinson & many more. Not to mention the coffees and lunches out with friends after our sessions! What's not to love?
Joining Rock Choir is one of my better decisions in life. It has given me the opportunity to sing on stage in the Echo Arena, at Wembley stadium, alongside Russell Watson and G4, at the top of Snowdon, perform flash mobs, not to mention the countless fundraising gigs in churches, marathons etc.
Along the way great friendships have been made with quite the best bunch of people, with far too many social events to list!
But, for me, the highlight has to be our weekly rehearsals, under the guidance of Anthony, a man of many talents and infinite patience, not to mention his dancing/ mincing skills! No matter how bad your day or week has been, you will leave uplifted and ready to face the next day with a smile on your face ( and probably an ear worm or two!)
Love it!
I’ve been a member for 2 1/2 years and have never looked back. I’ve met amazing like minded people who support you when things are bumpy and celebrate when things are going great. I’ve gained so much confidence especially standing with the petites in the front row. Anthony is an inspirational leader who makes you believe you can achieve the impossible. One of the best choices I have ever made!
It’s the best thing a ever done. Joining Rock Choir I love it. It’s great fun. You get to meet some really nice people and Anthony seaman it’s a great choir leader 😀
It's such a tonic to be a part of rock choir, such a warm and welcoming group of people, good for the heart and soul and Anthony (choir leader) makes everything such fun, can't beat it
I've loved Rock Choir since the very first time I walked into the rehearsal room! I was expecting to sing with a group of people and perhaps make some new friends. What I got was so much more than that! I've met some wonderful people who are like family. I've performed at some amazing events and with some famous people with my fantastic Rock Choir friends and I've enjoyed every single minute of this whole Rock Choir experience. Our leader Anthony is just amazingly talented and good fun too. If you're considering joining, just go ahead. You'll love it too and will become a Rock Choir advocate! You just can't help it. Thanks everyone. It's been brilliant! xxx
I joined Southport Rock Choir last September. I have always loved singing and after moving back to the area I decided to take the plunge and join the choir. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and you very quickly feel at home. Anthony the choir leader is very talented and always brings his witty sense of humour into the practice. The songs are varied and the sound is amazing when all the voice parts are put together. There is no pressure to join in the performances, but once you have taken the first step you will not look back and enjoy every one.
I joined 2 months ago as a way of relieving some of the stress from my job. I can’t sing but love to sing. I was warmly welcomed into the taster session and Anthony and Kate made sure to say hello. Everyone was so friendly! Tuesdays are now the highlight of my week and it really helps me forget about everything for those few hours. I have my first performance in May and I am so excited! Thank you Anthony and Birkenhead Rockies for being my weekly tonic
Going to choir never fails to give me a much needed mid week boost! I've met some lovely people and had the most amazing experiences! I love the songs we sing and performing them and all led by our very talented choir leader Anthony Seaman!
Agree with everything that's been said in the 5* reviews. Love driving home from work on Thursday nights and suddenly remembering that it's Choir night, best night of my week.
We have the most amazing time, every week, and at all of the wonderful events that we are lucky enough to take part in - mountain top to Church hall and everywhere in between; there's always so much to look forward to and you can do what you can, when you can.
Oh, and not forgetting the ripple effect.....our family and friends get so much out of it, too and our audiences always seem to love what we do.
Thank you Anthony, Merseyside & the wider RC family - you're the best xx
