Recent experiences (5*) with R & R have been very good, making up for a previous poor experience.

Probably the worst bike shop I've ever been in, the man was unbelievably rude to me, so i just walked out. The shop down the road couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Definitely will not be going back

They seemed really disinterested in helping me to choose a bike. Maybe the mark up on a £500 bike isn't worth their time. They had a bike I was interested in, but their disinterest made me go elsewhere.
Paul's Bikes in Hitchin couldn't have been more different. Really friendly and helpful during my initial enquiry, so I chose to spend my money there instead.

Quality, honest servicing by folks part of the cycling community. A proper LBS.

Shockingly unpleasant experience. AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS!!! Patronising attitude from the majority of the staff that work here. Also can expect to get a botched job on simple fixes.

User

So very helpful to get the sale.
FORGET AFTER SALE SERVICE.
They have had my bike twice for a service. BOTH TIMES I HAD TO I CHACE THEM.
The first time I thought it was a one off.
AS SOON AS THEY GET THE SALE THEY DON'T CARE.
Whyt bikes are amazing go else where for it Please.

Visited today to try to source some specific parts as they're listed a Specialized dealer. Greeted by a very condescending attitude when I queried an issue that's apparently "all over the internet" - one which was new to fellow mechanics just a short walk away.
Will not return, and can't recommend anybody else does either. At the very least expected professional respect for a fellow cycle mechanic, which was sadly lacking. Looking at other recent reviews, it seems I'm not alone.

Awful. My wilier bikes drop out broke, as they sell this type I bought my bike to them and asked for a fit. They said yes no problem. 6 weeks later no word, I go to the shop to find my bike on show outside!!!!! With no word of it being done or fixed. Safe to say I asked them to remove my bike from the chains outside the shop as they were clearly using it as advertisement with no intention of fixing it! It's a £1,400 bike so for them it was easy advertising!
I work away from home so I trusted it to them and I was so wrong to do so! Never again. My friend came with me and he works for British cycling, save to say he will never recommend these clowns. Rude and lying individuals

Great store. friendly staff. Thoroughly recommend!

Excellent service and very knowledgeable mechanics. Sorted my bike out within a couple hours of my phoning up to enquire about availability. I will be back.

I won't be going here again. A couple of the guys are reasonable by LBS standards but there is one who clealy has no understanding (or maybe just doesn't care) of customer service. I went in today having not visited since maybe September last year (I try to do most work on my bikes myself) and despite me being the only customer in the shop, did not acknowledge me for at least 30 seconds after I'd said hello. Then proceeded with 'you again, you're in here all the time' (I've been in maybe 4-5 times in the last year). Now if I worked in or owned a bike shop I would certainly not see repeated visits as some sort of inconvenience / problem.

I then asked for advice as I had some difficulty removing a crankset from an old bike. The guy then proceeded to question why I was bothering with the bike, as if that was any of his business (it is in fact a very nice 1982 Koga Miyata). He repeatedly mentioned their (rather rip off) rate of £60/hour (I've had Alfa's serviced for less) as if that would be troublesome to afford and basically to bugger off.

You are much better ordering parts from any of the mass retailers and learning to wrench yourself. This place is the perfect example of why people don't want to buy their bikes at local shops.

I visited to try a Whyte bike for size -having found the shop from a stockist search on the Whyte website. The service and the discount were great, so I ended up buying a Specialized bike with a great discount that was much better matched to my needs and abilities. Very knowledgeable and helpful team.
