Went to the takeaway for gluten free fish and chips but was advised by a member of staff the food wasn't suitable for coeliacs. Was told to pop along to the restaurant and they would do me a take away which they did despite being very busy. I can honestly say it is the best gluten free fish and chips I have ever had and will now have to wait for a return visit to get the opportunity to eat there again. Fantastic Rockfish on behalf of us coeliacs!

We go every time we’re in Dartmouth because it’s just so fantastic there- swift, friendly service, great with our 2 year old daughter. Plus the food is AMAZING and great value for money.

The fish and chips were the best I ever had. Cook to order and it was so fresh. Would love to go again but as we from Cambridge it a bit far to come. Lovely and friendly staff great place Please open one in Cambridge lol

Just enjoyed an amazing birthday meal in Dartmouth. The Green Thai mussels were the most delicious mussels I’ve ever tasted!! Highly recommended! Calamari, king prawns & mini crab cakes to share to start, then Amaretto crunch to finish.

Have now been to two Rockfish restaurants; Dartmouth and Torquay. Both offer fish choices of the day and these vary daily. Almost all food, with the exception of the garlic bread, can be made gluten free. The menu is excellent and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Chips are offered as an unlimited option which I've never seen in any restaurant before. Overall a highly recommend place to eat, I'll certainly be going back.

Every time I am in the area I come here they are the best fish and chips in Devon (I think). Its so fresh and the staff are always welcoming. Well worth a visit

Best fish eaterie I know. love their tempura batter, it is so gorgeous and melt in the mouth. The fish is super fresh. Chips and curry sauce a must. Giant prawns expensive but more tasty than any prawns I have had. Lovely atmosphere overlooking the harbour. Very good service, particularly Mark the manager, and Todd the smiley waiter.

Absolutely amazing wish we had one in Manchester best fish I've ever tasted the service was fantastic and the best children's pack to keep my little girl entertained a purse bracelet and snap cards that she won't stop playing can't wait to come back

We visited last month and were delighted with friendly staff and exquisite food all explained. Mitch was in residence which may of made a difference! Catch of the day what’s good today etc

I booked yesterday and we were refused entry at 11.55am told to wait outside with another family who had also booked we had children. We waited and waited until 12.05 and were greeted with We are open you know! I had to ask for water � and a play pack to amuse my 5 yr old son which is really embarrassing! No greeting or what’s good today. Sadly a chip shop experience at restaurant prices I even had to guess which wine they served as the lady didn’t really have time to spend on our table. There were 5 other tables seated max! Sorry we weren’t impressed. I booked as a special treat for my mother she wanted to leave before we were even seated.

Takeaway: The chips are delicious, and the kids loved the cod bites. It’s a shame the portion sizes are inconsistent - one day there were plenty, the next about half the amount. The ordering system seems really inefficient too - perhaps relying on reputation that people will wait (although we heard a few folk walk away because the queue was so long). Given that it’s high season and your good reputation obviously attracts custom, it seems sensible to plan for this so waiting over half an hour isn’t the norm.

Very disappointing meal. The worst chips I’ve had in ages and some soggy batter...such a shame definitely not what it used to be.

Unlike our usual trips to Rockfish we visited Dartmouth on Friday 15th September and were met with a shock. We were seated and then were not served for 30 minutes despite asking for someone to take our order. It then took an age for our food to be cooked to top it all off our food then sat under the lights in the kitchen for 15 minutes consequently arriving cold. The usually delicious tartare sauce was a cheap runny supermarket version rather than the usual homemade type. This is not our usual Rockfish experience and hope to never have it repeated.
