The mighty "Optimum" does it again for our Dave on his last angling trip to Croatia. None of these fish are under 50lb and the biggest just under 72lb.

THE GAME

After taking delivery of the first batch of “The Game “ last week here is what happened.... Things had been a little slow for the last 2 weeks and a succession of overnight blanks had accumalted . Sunday night I went down and only one other angler on 30 acres so had the freedom to choose a swim I wanted. I put about a kilo out to one spot and fished 2 rods to it and the other was fished in the margin with a scattering of bait. Things looked very promising but was scuppered by disturbance from other anglers first thing Monday morning so packed up and hoped I could get back in later in week. Arrived back on Tuesday night but swim still occupied so dropped in a close by swim and fished the margins. 3am and my rod on the clay spot ripped off and couldn’t stop it, ended up with a boat battle and a very pretty 18.6 from a scattering of the new bait. Back again Thursday night and able to get back in the swim from Sunday with no other anglers near. Put out another kilo to the range spot and settled back. First thing Friday morning resulted in scaley 24 followed by a beautiful dark scaley 26. More bait spodded out and a trip home for provisions as it looked good. Saturday morning resulted in same bite time an absolute cracker of 27 common which was excreting the game all over, midday and a stunning (though small) 15. Well what can I say first week and 4 fish 3 of which are crackers when the going has been more than tough is amazing and a great advert for how good this bait can be. Smells amazing a little on the old skool type aroma and real dark red , fish seem to have taken an instant love for it so heres to the future of “The Game”
