Wonderful little gem in the heart of Halifax. The restaurant is only small which I think adds to its charm and allows for excellent service. I have been a couple of times but on this occasion we went as a family with our 3 year old son. The owner and waiters were lovely and polite and stopped to chat with my 3 year old too. They also made recommendations for food based on what we ordered for our next visit (which will hopefully be soon!)

The food was wonderful. My partner had the meatballs to start and a calzone for main. I had the prawn cocktail followed by the spinach ricotta tortellini and my son had a margarita pizza. All delicious and we took home what we couldn't finish! Compliments to the chef!

Highly recommended restaurant. Could not fault anything.

We had our first meal at Romeo & Juliet's on Saturday for our Valentine's meal, and it didn't disappoint, the welcome was warm, the waiting area cozy, and the whole restaurant was clean and well decorated, with added Heart shaped decorations to make Valentine's night special. The meal was lovely, the staff were friendly and attentive, Carlo was present all night, as was Lucia and chatted to their customers, the ladies even left with a complimentary single Red Rose, we'll definitely be going back again .......... Soon !

We ate at Romeo and Juliets last night, we haven't been since last Sept. Carlo made us so welcome as he remembered my husband and myself. We had a great meal, a starter and main course. We couldn't manage a sweet .The service, food and staff very friendly. We will be back in a few weeks this time not months .Definitely recommend. 5 Star.

It was my 1st visit and as we were a large party, we gave them a list of our choices the week before, which they handled excellently and everyone got what they asked for. I ordered pate for starter which came with plenty of toast (usually runs out before the pate) main was Chicken Stroganoff which was very nice - my only disappointment was it came with a side dish of vegetables instead of rice and to finish off I had Tiramisu which was lovey. The staff were very warm and friendly, it definitely felt like a family business and that they cared about the food and the customers. Would love to go back again and I'd recommend it to anyone

User

Awesome! My new favourite restaurant! Food is delicious and very reasonably priced with ample portion sizes, staff have always been very welcoming, polite and friendly when we have visited and the restaurant/bar and toilets are immaculately clean! The best value for money in town and I would highly recommend the chicken stroganoff! We'll definitely be going again very soon!

A beautiful setting and great food. Such an ornate building , inside and out. We have eaten dinner there lots of times and have always had great service and great food, lunch certainly didn’t disappoint us. The girls Mozzarella looked and tasted great. I had the Calzone Pizza, very, very tasty and absolutely massive.. 👏🏻👏🏻😀👍🏻

1st time here last night, both me and my son had the 3 course early bird. Absolutely fantastic food, plentiful and very tasty. Can't wait to go back

Me and my husband had a lovely meal here on Saturday night. The pate and deep fried mozzarella was lovely and I had the lasagne which was also spot on too. The staff were nice with a warm service.

User

Friendly and inviting staff. Lovely meal. Just a bit pricey for drinks.

We decided to try Romeo and Juliet's for lunch and I was impressed with the cleanliness of the dining room and the toilet facilities. We had the mozzarella in carozza to start and although a healthy portion, it was unfortunately a frozen appetiser with a reheated sauce which we saw in the carton- it didn't taste the best it could have. For the main course I had the chicken stroganoff, I enjoyed the sauce, however the chicken was extremely tough, almost as though it had been reheated in the microwave and tossed in the sauce. The chips I had alongside were covered in table salt, which was disappointing. My partner had the spaghetti bolognese which was bland and rubbery, unfortunately another let down. We had a wine and a beer which were satisfactory. With the bill totalling over £30, we were both disappointed that our lunch wasn't enjoyable and that the waiter was reluctantly sorry and questioned us when we hadn't eaten much and explain our thoughts on the meal. He proceeded to tell me the stroganoff was the best selling dish in a defensive manner. Although some aspects were fine, sadly we won't be returning. More fresh and vibrant ingredients needed.

We came in for Lunch today, we were the only customers in the restaurant. It is safe to say I was very disappointed. Had the mozzarella to start with, the sauce was very watery. Tasted as if it had come out of a jar. Went for the spaghetti bolognese for my main which was far too salty, couldn't eat it. My parter had the Chicken stroganoff, the chicken was dry and chewy, tasted as if the chicken was frozen. We didn't eat our mains, told our waiter we didn't like our food, we were informed both dishes were "fresh, and very popular with customers". We weren't offered anything in its place or any kind of discount on the bill. Very disappointed as you have a beautiful venue, very clean and well presented. However it is a great shame the food isn't up to scratch.
