What a season for the seniors! πŸ’―
1s promoted to Div1 with a resounding 200+ run win over Weaverham CC. A ton from Rolphy, quickfire 50 from Buzz and 4wkts for Razor. 🏏
2s promoted to Div1 as champions with a final day win away at Congleton CC. Strong bowling and fielding performance capped with an unbeaten 83 from Tricky chasing 119 for victory. 🏏
... 3s finished strongly to end up fifth in East Div1; some excellent performances from the juniors throughout the season making their debuts and gaining experience. 🏏
Everyone who played throughout the season contributed; it truly has been a total club effort. Also, everyone who volunteered their considerable time and efforts off the pitch (of which there are many) as well as support from all WAGS, family, friends, neighbours and sponsors, thank you. πŸ™ŒπŸ»
A great celebration last night with The Rumour Mill banging out the tunes; I’m sure there will be a few sore heads today (Beth?!) 🎼🍻
Finally, happy birthday to our chairman, Mick Rowe! πŸ·πŸŽ‰πŸŽ

So, the terrible weather on Saturday actually did us a favour for once, with the 1s sealing promotion with 1 game to spare! The 2s have the opportunity to get promoted this weekend, too. Big celebration either way, with Steve Harrison’s band, The Rumour Mill, playing live at RCC this Saturday night! Get yourself down! πŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸŽΌπŸŽΈπŸŽ€πŸπŸ’―

The final match of the season is nearly upon us (Sat 15th Sept). As per recent tradition, we will be hosting band night that evening, with The Rumour Mill returning (with our very own Steve Harrison) to play some classic covers! Free entry. Hope to see you all there! 🎼🎸πŸ₯πŸŽ€πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ’―

A loss for the 1s yesterday, going down to Brooklands CC in a top of the table clash. Some heavy hitting (100 off 32 balls πŸ‘€) from their overseas took it away from us, after DB had earlier hit a classy 50, with cameos from Buzz and Jho.
2s with a winning draw away at Stockport CC, unlucky not to take the final wicket. Shout out to Dave Paterson on his maiden senior ton and 89 from the coat hanger (partnership of nearly 200). πŸ‘πŸ»
3s currently 139-3 chasing 177 at home to Brooklands, Pedro currently on 50 (πŸ‘€).

A big weekend was had both on and off the pitch. 🏏
1st XI won a tense thriller away at Hale Barns CC by 13 runs, defending 144. DB and JB with runs and wickets shared between Razor, Hoots and skipper Bilbo claiming 3 at the end.
2nd XI won by 5 wickets at home to Cheadle Hulme CC. Suchit taking 6 wickets and Ste Harrison in the runs. 🏏
... No 3rd XI match. 🏏
U19’s lost to eventual champions Stockport Georgians CC at T20 finals day, securing 3rd place in a play-off. 🏏
Despite the rain, a successful day and night at #MadeInManchester community music festival hosted at the club in partnership with Pitch Productions and C&C Insurance. A massive thanks to all involving for organising, and to you for coming and supporting; a lot of people had a lot of fun! 🎼🎀🍻πŸ₯‚πŸ•πŸ’«πŸ’ƒπŸ»

Wonderful venue, held my daughters christening there today. Emma couldn’t do enough to help us, the bar was well staffed. Brilliant venue for a day do like ours or a more lively evening party.

Darren from No. 29 in Romiley did a fabulous buffet with plenty to go round!

Thank you so much for making our special day so good xxx

User

We held our daughters christening here over the weekend just gone and what a great place to have it. Emma and the rest of the staff were so helpful on the actual day, on the morning helping to set up, and the lead up to it all, always available to answer any questions we had. We had about 70 guests who all fitted into the room comfortably and also made good use of the balcony with it being such a hot day. We couldn’t recommend Romiley Cricket Club and Emma and her team enough! The perfect venue for the perfect day.

User

User

The perfect venue for our daughter's Christening yesterday. Attentive staff, great views of the cricket field from the balcony, use of the TV to show the England game and nothing was too much trouble. It was the best day we could have wished for. Thank you, I will certainly recommend to anyone looking for a venue in the future. Michael, Julia and baby Elise

User

The perfect venue for our Christening party last week. Split room worked well with half used for serving the food then entertaining the children. Staff very friendly, helpful and welcoming before and on the day - thanks Emma and the team, we will be back

User

Thanks to all at Romiley Cricket for a fab day for my son's christening party. Great to use the L shaped room with buffet and kids toys in the small section and tables in the large area. Guests made full use of the balcony and enjoyed watching the matches. Emma and the team were really helpful and cleared round, assisted with set up and took care of our guests. Lots of guests commented on what a great venue it was. We had about 55 guests and there was plenty of space. Buffet by Darren at No.29 was superb too. Many thanks xx

Had my 50th birthday party at Romiley Cricket Club on Sat 7th July. Great weather! A lovely function room and to be able to have the balcony open for guests to sit out and enjoy the evening sun looking accross the pitch was awesome οΏ½ Emma the manager was really helpful and professional. Number 29 did the catering whose hot buffet went down really well with the guests, and Simon the resident DJ played all the songs we wanted plus more! I would thoroughly reccommend the pavillion for hosting a party οΏ½οΏ½οΏ½οΏ½οΏ½
