Room for Dessert was recommended by my sister who goes to uni in Bolton and after going I can see why. It's a sweet tooth and sugar lover's dream and a chocoholic heaven. Looks great and cosy inside too. My only advice...don't eat anything before you go you won't need to!

Just popped in to pick up some sweet treats. Lovely welcome and efficient service, guided me through the mountain of cake options!

I'm now on some kind of sugar coma due to the incredible salted caramel cookie, taken warm as recommended (with a cheeky scoop of ice-cream!). I'm not looking forward to the crash that will happen later.

Had lunch at roomfour dessert this afternoon with my 2 young daughters.

Ordered chicken wrap for me and the potato crush for the girls.

Food was absolutely delicious. Nice and hot. The girls are usually picky eaters but they loved the potato crush. Portion size was perfect.

For dessert we ordered the waffles with nutella, strawberries and ice cream. The waffles were beautiful and so soft that they literally melted in the mouth.

Only complaint is due to the hot westher the ice cream melted very quickly. Needed more icecream.

Staff were friendly and kept me informed about my order and how long it will be at regular intervals.

Lovely atmosphere. Light and airy. Colourful and comfortable.

Thoroughly enjoyed.

I would definately recommend this establishment.

Definately will be coming again soon.

Great place! Very nice food...we had a different hot sandwich each and all were delicious (and came with complimentary chips which was a nice touch!)! Quick service too and the staff were very accommodating We had the dessert shots which were so yummy we took a load home for later! Will definitely be visiting again! ☕️

I think some of the negative reviews on here are a bit OTT. From our own personal experience the desserts were very very tasty and very fresh with high quality ice cream. I can see what some people are saying about the service - I wouldn't say that the food itself was 'slow' for the fact it's made fresh but the attention at the front as you enter is quite slow and a bit of a 'no frills' approach to customer service. Having said that it won't put me off coming back, I really enjoyed the desserts and frankly I go to a dessert restaurant to enjoy tasty desserts not to be treated like a queen.

I believe that the lack of exceptional service is due to the fact that all of the resource is being used in the kitchen to ensure that the food that leaves it tastes and looks amazing - which it is. In my eyes it's worth waiting for.

This place has gone downhill, only giving it a 3 because of the lovely girl who served us. The chocolate in the fondue tasted fake, the waffles dry, the only good thing was the pot of tea!

The food is great cant fault it but service is getting down hill, lately went afew times and everytime they seem short staffed so order comes out late,they are rushed off their feet and sometimes they even forget what you ordered. Me n my daughter went with her friends as a treat my daughters friend ordered waffles she only ate one piece out of the four so told staff to pack the rest to tke home, was left standing for ages, after a while the guy asked if i was ok an why i was waiting told him was waiting for the waffles that he was meant pack he apologised as he had forgotten and instead he had thrown them in the bin which meant he had to make fresh ones and i was left standing for ages. Wasnt happy. But this is only one of my so many other complaints due to poor service. Food is great tho.

We have been coming to Room Four for over a year now and have always really enjoyed it. However the service has been getting progressively worse. We have waited over an hour for a simple lunch when the place was very quiet and very slow service for just dessert out of the counter. We visited last night for the first time since the referb and was so disappointed. The seating capacity has at least been halved and there were lots of people waiting around us which wasn't very comfortable. We ordered pink tea which wasn't very nice and a the s'mores cookie dough which we have always loved. The cookie dough was so disappointing, not soft and gooey and they now use very cheap marshmallows not even covering the top. The menu is also very small. We have tried Another dessert place in Bolton and have found it to be far better. Such a shame as we have always enjoyed it here

I have been a regular customer at room four for sometime now, but recently the service has been awful, always short staffed. I went in for breakfast this morning was told waiting time was 20 mins but I didn't get it till 45 minutes later, no apology and nothing to compensate for the long wait, very disappointed and definitely feel service is going down hill and I wasn't the only customer who felt that way this morning, even staff working there were complaining as to how short staffed they are and the amount of complaints they have had in the recent months!

Always been regulary customers with my family at room four but i must say that tonights service wasnt good or exceptable! Came in with my partner and two children and was told to take a seat , 10mins after being seated our order was taken , waitress explained they was a 15min wait ( was fine with us) 25mins past for a waiter to approach us and asked if we have ordered!! I replied with yes , he then stood there with a confused face and said well it hasnt been made will be a further 15min !! I told him that wasnt no good for us ( waiting time doesnt work well with two small children) they was no apology given by any of the staff ... also whilst waiting for our food order i ask if we could have our 1 coffee soon as whilst waiting , apperntly no because you had a large drinks list to get through, the place didnt look over busy at all! Finally the high chair situation, not sure what that was all about but when we first was seated i ask for an highchair , to be told you didnt have any , then 10mins into us sat there whilst struggling with my son on my lap 1 appeared , was thankful but not sure what the issue was in the first place !

All in all we came out the house with happy excited kids to crying ones on the way home... not how we planned our saturday night �

just come back home still no waffles after waiting nearly 1 hour with young baby very disappointing. got told 15 minutes when placing order. the place was very busy and staff seemed overwhelmed. the gent in front of us also walked out without order. there people standing around near toilets. dont know why they reduced seating foll9wing refurb

Went in tonight to get 5 waffles firstly the cashier was leaning on the till second she got our order wrong and started arguing back with me and my partner with what we ordered as SHE had inputted it wrong after a long fuss and her asking me 5 times what was missing then still didn't get it right a half an hour after tea treat turned into a big fuss my partner had to go to work and had to scoff his waffle and we ended up with cold waffles n melted ice cream. Over all I was very disappointed with the service and attention to detail!! If your thinking of going don't order out due horrible service!!!!

Waited half an hour for service only to be told to order at the desk (we'd been noticed and stared at by staff on multiple occasions - no one thought to tell us) and when we were served staff were rude, practically threw our food on the table and barely said two words as they presented it. The only saving grace was the food, but not worth the wait and ignorance by staff.

Ordered the Ferrero Cheesecake today for a take out. Was excited to eat It for dessert later, but unfortunately, when I opened the box.. I was expecting the Ferrero chocolate on top of the cheesecake, as the way I saw it when I ordered it. The ferrero was not there anymore, and It was so disappointing.

Just visited the second shop opened on ........ The quality and the deco is amazing but I must say the service received was unbelievable and I found the policy they hold appalling. I visited the store to try the new burgers. I couldn't even find a menu as there was none so I had to take it from another customers table. It wasn't busy as there was only 3 tables so it's unacceptable that they didn't have enough menus. I was advised when I went to the counter to order that am unable to order a burger as I would have to eat in instead of taking it out as I had desired. This is the first time I have ever heard that am unable to take out from a place. This has left me feeling disappointed and I feel like I wouldn't wanna eat from there again

I'm amazed at just how bad a business could serve its paying customers. I've had bad experiences before and therefore hadn't been back to Room Four for a few years. We went today for breakfast an I was quickly reminded as to why I hadn't been here for so long. The breakfast eventually came out after a long wait with several items missing from my plate (how exactly can you serve a 'full breakfast' without all the items you state it has?!); the 'fresh' orange juice - well I have a good mind to report to trading standards because what came out was certainly not fresh, nor was it even something of quality like Tropicana, it was cheap concentrate rubbish mis-sold to me as 'fresh'.



But I think the best part came when, once all our breakfasts had come out, we enquired as to where our chai was because we wanted it alongside our food, as most people would. The response was that we'd have to wait another 15 minutes because all the cookers had been used to cook the breakfast so now they were going to put the tea on. How can a food establishment not have enough cooker space when we were the only people in the place?!



I could go on but I feel embarrassed to do this publicy already but I feel that all potential customers should know. Room Four is a breathtakingly good example of how to ruin a potentially good business through lack of attention from owners and not employing staff who care. There are better places locally that deserve my custom more than this shambles.

First time I have been and I won't be returning as it took ages to arrive and when it did the waffles were cold as a result I left it. Whilst I was waiting so long I had time to notice the place wasn't very clean for this fact alone I wouldn't return.

First and last time to this place, ordered desserts to take away and was seemingly disappointed when I got home. The apply crumble was depressingly tossed in a large white cardboard box with two pots of custard for a tiny slice of crumble. The crumble had obviously soaked straight through so the box was ripping as it got home and way taking it out of the box. Very gutted.. will not be recommending this place.
