Within 4 miles you can explore Bodmin Moor, where you can go horse riding, walking or try various water sports on Sibleyback Lake which include wind surfing, dinghy sailing and canoeing. To the south, lovely sandy beaches and pretty fishing harbours lie along the coast. Several excellent golf courses are also in the area.
