About Rose'S Ferretry - Angora & Standard Ferret Breeder

Our main focus is the health and good genetics of the ferrets bred here. Our second aim being to produce full angoras with normal noses.

Rose'S Ferretry - Angora & Standard Ferret Breeder Description

Rose's Ferretry and Hatchery is owned and run by Lucy Rose. Lucy started breeding standard ferrets in 2009. She then moved on to the breeding of European polecats and in 2017 had her first litters of angora ferrets.

The main focus at Rose's Ferretry is to produce ferret kits that are healthy and happy. The second focus then being to produce full angora kits with normal noses with no clefts. Planned pairings are never taken lightly and a great amount of thought and planning is put into what pairings will take place in the coming years to ensure that all kits born here are healthy with the inbreeding coefficients being less than 0. 5% in all pairings.

The utmost care is given to all ferrets at Rose's with them wanting for nothing. All are fed on a varied biscuit and raw whole prey diet. All are housed within a large summer house with access to an indoor floor to ceiling play area and a large 14ft x 5ft outdoor weather proof play area.

All kits born here are reared on a raw diet to provide them with the best start in life that they could possibly hope for. All are handled on a regular basis to socialise them as much as is practically possible in the short time that they are with us and are brought into the house for indoor play time with Lucy, her partner Ed and their 2 dogs and 2 cats. This ensures that when kits leave for their new forever home they have been thoroughly loved and cared for throughout and nothing will phase them in their new homes.

Great care is taken when talking to new prospective kit owners to make sure that our kits are going to the best possible homes. For the most part we do not sell to breeding homes. Only well known and trusted breeders may purchase a Rose's Ferretry kit. A contract is provided with each kit. We like to keep in contact with all our babies new owners and love having updates on how they're all doing!

Clara's babies were 2 weeks old yesterday and growing like weeds! Unfortunately she did lost one of her jill kits this week but the rest are doing amazingly! Some of them now have their names as well. The others will be named over the next week. Their statuses are also on individual pictures if you are interested in a kit from this litter.

Clara's litter are now a week old and growing rapidly! Clara is a wonderful mother and is very thorough with making sure they're all fed and cleaned nicely. The theme for this litter will be the three musketeers. Individual names to be assigned soon

It's been so busy here we forgot to show our new logo! Wanting some embroidered clothing and unfortunately my beautiful old logo just wouldn't embroider well. So here is our new logo so that everything will match 😁

Clara's babies are a week old tomorrow. They're just hinting at what colours they may be now in stark contrast to her litter last year it looks like we have a litter of sables and we may well have some mitts in there 🥰

***UPDATE: Jenny has now found an amazing home and will be collected Saturday morning! Thankyou to everyone that enquired about her. If you are still interested in a Rose's kit this year then we have our young standard litter that are nearly a week old and a semi angora litter due very soon. Watch this space! ***
Unfortunately due to no fault of her own Jenny has become available. She is a 10 week old black roan semi angora jill looking for a loving home. Please message me for further details if you would like to offer her a home

Rose's is once more filled with the sound of squeeks 😁. Super excited to announce that on Saturday night Clara gave us 7 beautiful standard short hair kits 🥰. 4 hobs and 3 jills are all looking really good and chunky. Great to have a standard litter here once more! A lot of them are looking pretty dark with a couple of black noses in there so I am looking forward to seeing how they grow and develop!

It's all just too much like hard work for Gretel and Buggy so a cuddle in the sun it is

Lieutenant Dan has settled into his new home with his two new big brothers from the grease litter 2017. Here he is with Putzie 😊

It's 30 degrees here so we now have a large piece of marble that we can cool down with the hose and frozen water bottles and also a little paddling pool with a carpet tile in so that they don't slip over. Aurora seems to approve of the paddling pool 😂

Finally it is pretty much finished! More hammocks and toys to add but we're pretty much there. Some of the gang tried out the new crib this evening. 3 levels with pop holes between that can be locked closed to make 3 separate tiers if needed or one big play area. So happy with how my idea has turned out. In the winter months it will act as an extention to the big run when more adults are all together 😁

When your trying to build a new ferret complex but Queenie just has to be involved 🙄😂🥰

User

The beauties are 7 weeks old! Time is definitely flying now. They all have such funny characters and are really growing into themselves 🥰

User

Running late on the pictures this week 🙈. So the babies were 6 weeks old yesterday. Where has the time gone!?! They're quick on their feet now so getting these pictures was a mission 🙄😂

User

Same again, trying to get the pictures in their correct album

User

Unfortunately the page is messing about and pictures weren't added to the albums properly so just spamming the page to get them back where they belong 🤞🏻
