With immediate effect we are no longer able to issue fishing permits for the lake here at RFC.
The Environment Agency have withdrawn our right to divert water from the stream into the lake until further notice. To protect the health of the lake and the fish within it, we are therefore ceasing all fishing until the situation reverts to normal.

User

perfect place to get some fresh air - all year round. Loads of things for the family to do and a great place to walk the dog - and you only pay to park !

We had a fantastic day on the Falconry Experience. This was a Christmas present from me to my partner, a full day, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Dean, Alice and Ron were fantastic, very approachable, full of amazing facts and information about the birds and obviously had very close and trusting relationships with all the birds too. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone thinking of doing a Falconry day. It has a beautiful setting within the National Forest with many more activities to take part in.

User

Recommend the Hub Cafe! Lovely food and friendly/welcoming staff, perfect for a meal/snack or hot drink after a long walk or Poke hunting.

My family and I love this beautiful site and its rustic looking play area and crazy golf plus wild areas with play equipment for the children. The cafe is superb serving hot and cold food and they hold many events.

Tonight however I was blown away by the informative, fun & interesting evening with owls which was shared with around 30 other guests.

This was a present from my sister and family for my birthday and it really was a treat.

I learned so much from the father & daughter team (I'm so sorry I didn't catch your names but please accept my thanks for all your hard work this evening)

The best thing has to be the "hands on" time when our inexperienced hands were allowed to fly the owls to the glove.

Huge thanks for a truly super evening!!!

I can't wait to bring my son and his best friend...

User

Just been on the photography walk. Well organised. Thank you so much to the gentleman leader who took time out to explain to our novice photographer daughter about her camera. It was really appreciated.

User

Had a throughly enjoyable day today at Rosliston forestry centre for our team building day at work. Lots of enjoyable activities and giggles. Great idea to foster team work and decision making. Definitely visiting this place again.....only 20 minutes away and great for a walk. Thanks to the instructors for being very helpful, friendly and informative.

Had a brilliant time today for the falcon event!

User

Great day out - friendly and approachable staff and only Β£3 all day parking! Definitely recommend and would fully recommend the Kelly's Ice cream in the main shop in the foyer - A great day out, we will be back!

User

Brilliant day , we did the eagle photo shoot experience with The Falconery Centre on Sunday 22nd Oct , Zac was fantastic with the birds both he and Pat knew the birds very well and gave lots of photo opportunities . Martin suggested some ideas for taking pics and Zac did all was asked of him and the birds . The birds were put in different settings to help us get the best pictures...also we were able to photo some different birds of prey at the end too , which was an added bonus. Would highly recommend Rosliston Falconery to everyone :-)

User

A lovely day out, staff at reception and the cafe friendly. The bird experience was amazing, everyone seemed very knowledgeable and friendly and the birds were lovely. I still can't believe what the grip strength of some of the birds!!! Would definitely like to come back and see more of the owls. Great place.

User

Lovely cheap day out, only Β£3 to park, but more bins are needed and the few you do have need emptying! They were overflowing with waste, one right next to the pond where the waste could potentially end up in the pond. Not good for the wildlife that live there.

Apart from that we had a lovely day and will be returning

User

I come here every week with the children (3 years old)for a walk around the sensory garden, to the bird hide and then back to the park for swings, slide etc. finding egg shells, pine cones and sticks along the way. The walks are lovely, although a map should be acquired as not all the posts are clear.

There are lots of activities for all ages here from craft and teddy picnics to camping and falconry.

User

Lovely walk with my family but please be careful when walking around I went Sunday and got bitten by ticks 6 times and got Lyme disease so please ensure your wearing appropriate clothing if your wanting to avoid this and also dogs.

User

Love coming here but thought we’d take our new dog to the cafe after a walk. Apparently dogs arent allowed in the cafe?!?! This is the forst forestry centre I’ve known not allow them. Instead, we have to endure the wasp frenzied tables outside with all the other poor dog families! Come on Ros have a look at Hicks Lodge down the road and review this!

User

It's a wonderful place for waking, with or without dogs & enjoying the changes of the seasons. The facilities for disabled are good also on the whole. Whilst the Hub cafe & the staff are excellent..... It does seem to be spoilt by some of the cycling groups that go there. Instead of putting their bikes on the designated rack, some choose to 'plonk' them on the seating & also the disabled ramp - this means access for wheelchairs & pushchairs is limited at theses times. Some (not all) get extremely confrontational if a bike is moved (whilst they are sitting at a table inside) in order for you to sit at an available table / seat outside to enjoy your drink or meal.

User

Great place to bring kids.. cafe was only let down. They need to invest in some new tables chairs and high chairs or get everything deep cleaned.. all the furniture, especially the high chairs are filthy. :(

User

Great for kids to play and like most have said only Β£3 for parking. (Bargain!) cafe was disappointing overpriced and quality of food not good. Still worth visiting but maybe take a picnic. Grounds itself were excellent and well kept
