Rothay Manor Hotel & Fine Dining

We just had afternoon tea. The quality of the food and of the service was excellent. High up in the top ten of our many afternoon teas of the last 20 years.

I must say that Rothay Manor has blown me away. We visited the restaurant and had the taster menu. The only way I can describe this is utterly amazing. The food was exceptional, the matched wine was a perfect accompaniment throughout and the service really was the cherry on the cake so to speak. I must single out the barman who was a joy and the chef deserves every award there is. I would and will happily drive the 6 hours to eat here again. Perfect.

I have stayed here a few times and always enjoyed my stay. The rooms are spacious and quiet. Dinner has always been the star of our stay. I have never been dissapointed with my meals there. This recent visit is the first time we have taken our dog with us and she was made to feel very welcome with wonderful personal touches like dog treats in the room Nda letter from the owners dog.

We had a delightful afternoon tea at Rothay Manor.The service was friendly and efficient.The experience starts with the selection of teas.there was a varied and interesting choice. The sandwich selection was interestingly varied and well presented. The scones were beautifully light and the variety of cakes were delightful . Just got here and so far it's lovely. They let us check in early which was good for us with our tight schedule for the day and the room is a good size and a balcony overlooking the gardens at the front of the hotel which are really nice. Staff are really helpful too. Bonus as well with molten brown toiletries and matching bath ropes to top it off. Thumbs up all round.

The food was amazing! Lovely afternoon tea with a lot of variety - the sandwiches were all different and so tasty! Disappointing that the napkin had a very frayed hem as it spoiled the look with the lovely silverware...

Really comfy bed. Nice decor, very clean, shower was a little weak.

My boyfriend and I had afternoon tea at Rothay Manor and all I can say was it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We had acquired a buyagift voucher and this was accepted without any hassle at all and we weren't treat any different to cash paying customers .
The surroundings were pleasant and comfortable with a parlour type feel about them. The staff were attentive and made you feel at home and very welcome. The idea to choose your own tea from a selection of specially selected teas was a unique experience and made it more interactive and fun. The introduction to a range of teas weve never tried before gave us the unique opportunity to arouse our sense of smell from a variety of aromas to choose the tea that was right for us. A great idea and one that introduced me to a tea I had never had before and I would recommend the Redbush Caramel Velvet..it oozed of sweet caramel undertones and a perfect accompaniment to the food I was about to eat which was in three words delicious, delightful and devine.
Every bite had flavour and melted in your mouth with an aftertaste that made you want to try just a little bit more. The scones were absolutely amazing so light and crispy, the chef is very talented at getting the flavours and textures just right.
Attention to detail and arranged and served in such a way that you felt part of a forgotten era. A truly fine dining experience.
Thank you to all concerned we had a fabulous time and would recommend this unique experience to all.
