👇What is Acupuncture?👇
Acupuncture improves the body's functions and promotes the natural self-healing process by stimulating specific anatomic sites--commonly referred to as acupuncture points, or acupoints.
The needles are inserted into specific places on the body, which practitioners call acupuncture points.
... During the session, you'll usually be asked to sit or lie down. You may also be asked to remove some clothes so the practitioner can access certain parts of your body.
Acupuncture is often used to treat musculoskeletal conditions (of the bones and muscles) and pain conditions, including:
chronic pain, such as neck pain joint pain dental pain postoperative painchronic tension-type headaches migraines
We have both female and male Acupuncture practitioners.
If you are wondering if acupuncture will help you, contact us to discuss 😊

💡Sometimes overlooked as a form of exercise, walking briskly can help you build stamina, burn excess calories and make your heart healthier💡
https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/wal king-for-health/
You can download the Active 10 app (developed by Public Health England) on your smart phone, which is a great tool that tells you if you are walking fast enough. A brisk walk is faster than a stroll 😊

💡From our bones to our soft tissues, our body needs movement and activity to stay in its best condition.
Lack of activity can have several negative effects: • Muscles can grow stiff and weaken • Soft tissues like ligaments and tendons can lose their flexibility and become more vulnerable to injury... • The intervertebral discs, which hold fluid like a sponge, can lose nutrients and become dried out and inflexible

Osteoarthritis of the Hip continued😊
Osteoarthritis in your hips often causes difficulty moving your hip joints. E.g you may find it difficult to put your shoes and socks on or to get in and out of the car.
Hip arthritis is most commonly felt as an aching pain in the front of the groin, and this pain may travel into the thigh. Sometimes pain can be felt at the side of the hip, buttocks, or back of thigh.
... This is often worse when you move the hip joints, although it can also affect you when you're resting or sleeping.
A stiff hip can also be a factor in back pain.
Hip pain may be aggravated by:
- Rising from a seated position - Weight bearing activities, such as standing, walking and jogging🏃‍♀️ - Vigorous activity such as outdoor gardening and participating in sports🤸‍♂️
Mild hip arthritis may only cause pain occasionally. As Hip osteoarthritis worsens over time, pain may become more frequent. Pain may become more constant with activity and be associated with increasing stiffness or discomfort at night.
