Great place to visit, showing all about the local geology. Interesting building and a bargain to get in.
Came here for the fossil festival, was good fun! Scarbs might have seen some better days.... But where on the British coast hasn't? Despite this, the museum itself is interesting and has a nice collection, regardless of the surrounding coast.
Love our museum! Its tiny but packed with such interesting things. I love that they host family events here!
Really interesting - there was a Fossil Weekend with a T-Rex and two giant walking trees. There were several marquees set up with artefacts and historians on hand to impart interesting facts...
First visit. Dinosaur exhibition. Very interesting. Pleasant staff. Full family enjoyed. Would recommend. Will return.
Kept me and my partner entertained, great little museum.
Lovely building with a short but sweet dinosaur exhibition.
Opened in 1829, this unique circular building is one of the world's first purpose-built museums. The design of the building was suggested by William Smith, known as the father of English Geology.
The building is an exhibit in itself - the interior, with
its stunning trompe I'oeil ceiling and fascinating gallery, featuring a frieze showing the geology of
the local coastline designed by Smith's nephew,
John Phillips, is remarkable.
Small museum, but well worth the visit. £3 for yearly pass.
