User

We walked out of another pub down the road yesterday after been told they could cater for vegetarians and clearly didn't so we dropped in on the off chance of a table and we were found one

The food was fantastic and very well priced nice to have a choice when your vegetarian !

We had a little wait but it was understandable on a extremely busy Sunday, staff were great too !

Thank you .

User

We held our reception for our daughters christening here last Sunday, we had the bronze package buffet which was absolutely beautiful. So many comments from guests to say how lovely it all was. Thanks for making it special for us

User

We had the 2 for ten meals

Lovely meals really pleased

User

We all had a fantastic night. Massive fire. Superb fireworks. Loads to see and do. With many different sorts of food to try. Fun fair for kids. .. well done to all involved. :-)

User

This pub is absolutely fantastic, family and I love coming here such amazing staff and amazing food would definitely recommend it to friends.

User

The food was great and the staff were friendly, I will certainly go again. We had to wait a little while for the food but you have to for freshly prepared food and the wait was worth it

The only one slight issue I would mention was that we had to remind them that the vegetables were not delivered with the main course. This echos other comments i have seen. It's the detail that makes the difference

User

Popped in for quick pint and some food exellent sevice from wickle wicky and best cheese burger ever !

User

My 3rd large mixed grill at the round oak... consistently large and very nice. My family chose burgers but not the canal buster burger because you need special training to eat it all it's so big! Recently refurbished and has a nice cosy feel to the place. My only niggle is how long it takes to open enough sachets of vinegar, English mustard and sauce to compliment my meal. Mustard in a small pot and a vinegar bottle on the table would be better IMO....most enjoyable and we'll worth a visit!☺

User

Met friends there, food was really nice. Lovely pub and very friendly they even allowed us to stay in our camper van overnight. Thank you that was much appreciated 😘

User

Me and two friends Val and Marg go to Round Oak every Wednesday for lunch the food is lovely and staff friendly it's a nice change after going to The New Inn for months where we never felt welcomed xx

User

Lovely pub atmosphere with friendly staff. Had a beautiful meal with family. The meal was very good and great value for money.

User

Lovely place, great menu, friendly staff, what more could you want.

User

Lovely cosy pub with nice outdoor seating areas. Dog friendly!!!

I tried the lemon and herb crust cod which was just scrummy (not one bone !!!). Mom and hubby gobbled down their faggots and we finished off with the apple and rhubarb crumble which was lush.

Wine is varied and readonably priced.

Will sure be going again. Perhaps meet up with Jillie snd Dave!!!!

User

Just had the cock & bull combo - very nice.

Staff are lovely and friendly. The pub has been redecorated and looks very cosy

User

User

User

Great beer, great staff and all by the canal, we couldn't have had a better time. Oh, and the food portions were huge and very tasty. We will be back very soon.

User

Foods fab great menu choice and the service was great. The garden area is lovely all lit up on an evening. Would recommend it x

User

User

A lovely quaint family friendly pub serving good quality food. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning very soon

User

A brilliant ambience to sit and eat lunch.

Food was spot on couldn't have been any better.

Cajun chicken with peppers and citrus mayo, served with nachos and salad. I opted for the jacket potato option.

User

1st time yesterday.. Will not be the last.. Have been raving about the place all day. Look no further on bonfire night... Trouble free.. I take a bow ... And for charity

User

Slightly longer wait for the food than expected but, it was well worth it. The roast dinner was the best I've tasted in a long time. All cooked from fresh on site. Very reasonably priced as well. Will definitely return.

User

Great pub next to canal with a beer garden and kids play area, which means it can get very busy on summer days. We’re regulars enjoy great service, good ambience , lovely food on a regular basis.

User

Great place to eat food always good and reasonably priced.

Friendly staff and welcoming to all.. A lovely spot to sit and watch the barges go by..

User

Great food, great service, love Sunday lunch -would recommend it. Wednesday Grill night is also good 👍

User

Good value meals, loved the chicken pie, lots of veg too. Parents happy with their gammon meal and scampi. Hubbi asked for Liver and bacon which Wasn't available so had sausage and mash instead, which was rather a small portion. Lovely setting.

User

Friendly service with good food and drinks. Lunch was excellent value for money and they had a very good gin selection! On a nice day it has lovely outdoor area with small children's park. Dogs are well catered for too so all in all a good family choice.

User

Always lovely food they do the best Sunday lunch staff always friendly would recomend to friends and family good place to eat

User

We were a large party of three families but the chap taking our orders was very good and put us all on one table number. Bit of a delay with a few meals and the sides arrived before so went cold but all the food was lovely. However, one meal was wrong and we had a long wait for it to be sorted mainly due to the very rude and unhelpful girl behind the bar. I think she was spoken to about it because she delivered the correct meal in a very surly manner and my som had to eat alone.

User

I've always liked the pub and it is a lovely place to eat and chill out ... However, we had to wait almost an hour for 3 basic meals which wasn't great ... food was ok but my daughter's chicken burger was cold ... it was thoroughly cooked though to be fair ... bit of a cheat with the sweet potato fries as there appeared to be loads in the metal bucket but the greasproof paper they were in only went down a little way (clever though) all in all it was fine x

User

Giving it a 'good' as I know my friends enjoyed their meals. My meal not as described but as my vegan friend had already sent food back I kept stum. Ales were available but poor. Ladies toilets smell damp. We only came here because the Wagon and Horses was rammed with an hour wait on food...but the round oak was very quiet for a bank holiday, probably equivalent to an average Monday.

User

Food and beer excellent as always, but play area and garden need some TLC. Climbing frame and pub benches in need of repair

User

Long wait for food & i asked for my steak meduim but it was beyond overcooked and for the money it cost me, i could of had a better cooked meal at home.Yes noise is expected from play area but also parents should teach their kids not to scream for long periods and to be respectful of others around them who are trying to have a drink and food along side the canal

User

The food was under cooked and greasy, both myself and the wife had the main course and left well over half of it, the puddings were nearly as bad, my wife's dessert was nearly melted by the time she got hers and mine was cold

User

Complete waste of money sat for over an hour and forty minutes waiting for food ( cob & chips & salmon & boiled potatoes ) the food was cold under cooked, the sauce had curdled, after chasing the food 4 times and spending alot of money waiting for food, I took family here with me for the first time, who won't be returning again, and it wasn't as if when we ordered it was busy, it was a lovely Sunday afternoon spoiled ! Not good and would NOT recommend!
