The Royal College of GPs’ are running a new ‘3 before GP’ campaign. The campaign is about getting patients to ask themselves three questions before booking an appointment with their GP. The three questions are : 1.Can I – self care? 2.Can I – use NHS choices or similar reputable websites/resources? www.nhs.uk 3.Can I – seek advice/treatment via a pharmacist?

A watch was left in the surgery some time ago and had never been claimed. We would really like to reunite it with its owner. Please contact the surgery with details eg make and description so we can return it to its rightful owner. Thank you

Wiltshire Council is currently rolling out a campaign for homelessness awareness in Wiltshire to help provide real change for rough sleepers.
A funding page has been set up as an alternative way to support the homeless (as oppose to giving funds to beggars on the streets), the funds received will be shared between all the appropriate charities and outreach work partners to support those who need it.
To donate or to report a rough sleeper to Streetlink visit - http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/realchangewil tshire.

Many thanks to the surgery staff for their donations to the Storehouse Foodbank. Donations were made in lieu of a non-uniform day at the practice.
We wish all our patients a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.

Medical Receptionist vacancy (Temporary Contract to 31.1.18)
Friendly, busy practice needs a receptionist to work approximately 28 hours per week - including Saturday mornings (on rota). Flexibility is essential as hours will change to cover annual leave, sickness etc.
... The successful applicant will have experience of working with the public; have the ability to work under pressure, using their excellent organisational and computer skills to ensure the reception service operates smoothly and efficiently.

Closing date: Friday 21st July 2017 at 12.00pm Apply with CV to Suzanne Petty, Administration Manager

Good luck to Cathy Warner, one of our nurses who will be undertaking the Race to the Stones this weekend, which is 62 miles along the Ridgeway. She is undertaking this challenge in memory of Dr Mari Shaw.
If you would like to sponsor her, here are the links to the charities she is supporting. Thank you.
Bloodwise (lymphoma and leukaemia charity) ... Or And Mesothelioma UK (a little known and currently incurable lung cancer).

Have been with this surgery for over ten years now and find the staff and all the Doctors very helpfull and never to busy to help you .

The only problem that I can see with Roundstone Surgery is the same as it's been since it opened and that's the parking .

Being disabled with only two spaces available means having to wait especially if like me you have difficulty walking more than ten or even twenty yards on a good day it doesn't help. Even with this fault I wouldn't change my Dr Surgery for anything, as it's the best.x

Had minor surgery there today and the way they kept me relaxed and calm was perfect. Really appreciate the time given ☺️

In the last few weeks I've been regular visitor on and off. The medical staff have all been very professional, kind and sympathetic when needed.

The receptionists, I feel, might do with being sent on a people communication course and be made aware that they are there at the desk as a first point of contact, not as a fully trained patient deterrent, judge and jury of whether or not you are poorly..... If however they are medically trained and can acknowledge the fact that other people are listening to what's wrong with you, no matter how far back you make the queue stand, then I say sorry for my disparaging comments.

But a good morning, afternoon or evening with even the faintest glimmer of a smile and a look of interest would go a long way to, basically , not being so badly thought of, especially if we have to broadcast publicly what is wrong with us. Mind you they might not give a tinkers tail how good mannered they are to the public..... If on the other hand the public are rude then deal with them swiftly and without remorse, but please receptionist we are not all tarred with the same brush!!!!

Well where to start.

Unprofessional reception team who aren't qualified in service skills or mental health to the point their mist senior receptionist laughed when I told her over the phone I'm suicidal.

The reason I know it's the most senior receptionist is because Penny the manageress tried denying what she did and made out she was there and I told her then you clearly know she laughed. Her response was then well I would be disappointed at she's our mist senior receptionist.

Then once we get past the reception team we have the doctors which mostly are fantastic. However, I was very unfortunate to have to deal with Dr James Gordon who to be completely frank is the most insensitive most unprofessional doctor I have ever seen in my life.

He mocked me over my mental health, laughed and said there's no such thing as a magic pill then wrote to me to say they have removed me off their list. Although Dr Gordon doesn't take his job too seriously, the NHS has. They wrote back to me to give me the complaint forms.

If you suffer with any kind of problems, avoid this place as they will drive young suicide and laugh about it when you tell them how you feel.
