Royal Bath And West Description

Established in 1777 by an assembly of philanthropists, philosophers and agriculturalists in Bath; the Royal Bath & West of England Society seeks to encourage and improve Agriculture, Manufactures, Commerce and Rural Arts in the West of England.

From its home at the Bath & West Showground in the heart of Somerset the Society realises these charitable objectives through an array of activities, projects and events; the most famous of which is the Royal Bath & West Show. The Society’s other events include; The Dairy Show, Grasslands UK and the Field to Food Learning Day.

As an agricultural charity the Society has a remit to offer awards, grants and scholarships for the promotion of agriculture and rural arts. This remit manifests through programmes such as The Prince of Wales Award, Environmental Youth Awards, Art Scholarship and Long Service Awards.

Nestled in the heart of the West Country, the Bath & West Showground is a unique, versatile venue with a variety of inspiring indoor and outdoor spaces.

Across a spectacular site of 240 acres the Showground features; six sizeable indoor venues, numerous meeting, conference & exhibition spaces, a permanent road infrastructure, site-wide catering & bathroom facilities, and extensive car parking.

What an amazing show, this is definitely one to put in your diary if you want a fantastic family day out. There is something for everyone here. i had bought 2 tickets for me and my husband to go on the Wednesday with other family members. we enjoyed it so much we all came back on the Friday and then me my sister and her boyfriend ended back up there on the Saturday. there is just so much to see and do. All organisers should be really proud of what you make happen for us all to enjoy a day out. it truly is amazing and my favourite show to visit thank you. So if you haven't been make next year your year to visit amazing.

User

Great atmosphere and a wide variety of different activities to do! Would have liked more water fountains though, but there were plenty of eating places!

User

Excellent day out for all ages. The ground was really well laid out. And the animals were amazing. The food stalls were really tempting....especially the cheese and gin oneswe were very lucky with the weather which l know helps but l would still recommend this as a great day out.

User

Absolutely fabulous day out. It is so well organised and such a fun filled day with something for everyone. Had to search for the food hall which had moved from its usual spot.....and I would concur with other reviews that it was somewhat over priced and not quite as good as previous years but did not detract from an overall fantastic day.

User

A return to the Bath & West show after years of a busy life and l wasn't disappointed. Well organised parking, quick entry, very helpful staff. Huge variety of stalls and entertainment from 4x4 adventures to climbing walls with the army to fun fairs to animals and food. Something for everyone. Great weather, slightly pink this morning but what a great day! Best bits were the livestock and cheese, you can never have enough cheese in your life! Massive thanks to the B&W team for all your efforts. We will be back next year for sure

User

A joy as every year, our children enjoy it also, so much to see & do.

Look forward to seeing all the different animals every year.

Only thing we don't like is that the food hall has been moved & feel it isn't as good as when it was in the building.

Well done to all the people that make it possible for us to go every year u all do an amazing job x

User

Now the biggest agricultural show in the land the B&W goes from strength to strength. However the Members bar facilities are woefully lacking. No real ale available - this is a farmer's show for goodness sake! Bottled beer in the marquee and 'fizzy', chilled beer in the strange caravan bar outside. That needs addressing for the 2018 show.

User

Been here loads of time before and it was a great day out my son loved the diggers and wife enjoyed the craft stuff. Me i loved the stone carver,as I hobbiest stone carver myself , my son and neice also love it. Only criticism is that all the arena have been changed around and the food hall was not as good as normal. And the huge tent on the Green I perferd it being the old village green like before but like I said enjoyed it yesterday

User

Was a great event, its just a shame the Stewards and "Special Guests" were so rude. Stewards just seemed woried about their cups of tea as a pose to the wellbeing of induviduals within the event, and as for the "Special Guests" they just shoved everyone out of the way. As I said, a great event, but a little compassion and courtesy every once in a while can go a long way.
