Congratulations to our employee of the month in November Yvette Harrison, Team Leader in the wheelchair service, for her efforts to ensure that a very poorly patient with complex needs was made as comfortable as possible over the weekend. She stayed with the patient and family long after her shift had finished to ensure that his needs were met, meaning that he was not restricted to bed rest over the weekend.

Today I visited the breast clinic after finding a lump in my breast. Luckily for me it was just a cyst! The staff here and at my GP surgery who referred me were fantastic! I was seen by a consultant, had an ultrasound and was treated in an hour. The staff were kind considerate and efficient! Could not have asked for anything more. Thank you so much.

Our son was born 4 weeks prem here and we recently visited with his as he has been suffering with Bronchiolitis for 8 weeks. We were treated like we were the only one that matters. Everything was explained to us very thoroughly. Despite all the cuts this place is filled with nothing short of heroes!

On Tuesday 8th May I gave birth to my son Archie Jack Evans at Royal Bolton Hospital. Unfortunately after the birth I was bleeding internally and went into Hypovolemic Shock basically I was bleeding to death. The team at Bolton worked tirelessly (and I’m sure over their shift had finished) to stabilise me and give me the surgery I needed to survive. They were kind, compassionate and caring. Despite the desperate struggle they were having to stabilise me they made sure they were communicating with me ,my husband and my mum at all times. Of course I was scared but they made me feel at ease as much as they could. I was very grateful to everyone involved during the labour, birth, immediately after the birth and on my stay in High Care and Post Natal Ward afterwards. Everyone who treated me were second to none and I hope they read this and can be proud of themselves and know myself and my family will be eternally grateful. We can never repay what you have given us.

My profoundly disabled son was admitted by ambulance on Friday evening and everyone who dealt with us was wonderful. Especially the staff on D2 who were kind and caring and treated him with dignity and respect (they also looked after a very worried Mum and Dad). We’re home now but I wanted to say thank you and how much we appreciate all your wonderful staff who have to deal with some very challenging situations.

User

Just wanted to say a big thank you to all the nurses and staff whose care and support for our 4 year old son has been amazing. Ryan had dislocated and fractured his elbow. A&E staff, the X-ray team, the surgeons, nurses, play team and housekeeping have all been so kind, empathic, patient, and kept us fully informed all the way through. We really can not thank you enough. Here’s hoping Ryan has a speedy recovery and we will see you all again soon for his follow up surgery.

I’ve put I loved my experience at the hospital. This is obviously not quite correct but, for my experience was as good as could be expected. I was taken there on a Saturday evening, only after being persuaded by three fantastic paramedics that it was absolutely necessary. I’d heard nightmare reports of hours in A & E, nights on stretchers, drunks, fights etc but I saw none of that. What I did see was a very well-run unit; quick, caring and efficient staff and I was kept fully informed of what was happening. I was very lucky in that I was able to go home after a couple of hours, and that included triage, blood tests and being seen by a GP. I was very impressed. I still maintain that there’s an incredible amount of waste in the NHS but it certainly isn’t on the staff, who deserve every penny.

I’ve just come back from a 2 night stay in the postnatal ward M4 after having my baby boy. He was born on 31st October and I came home last night 2nd November. I want to praise each and every one of the staff there. My labour and birth was quite eventful/traumatic and my midwife who helped with delivery, Leah, was amazing. She kept me calm throughout and was just a genuinely lovely girl. I’m so grateful to her for everything. The doctors, including Dr Chia, and the rest of the staff who were involved in delivering my baby were also fab and kept me informed of what was happening during delivery so I knew what was going on.

The staff on the postnatal ward were incredible. Because of how much pain I was in I was unable to do a lot of things that I’d have liked to have done & really struggled getting out of bed and had a few more things to deal with. The midwives and nurses were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. They helped to settle my baby when I was surviving off 3 hours sleep in 2 and a half days, changed his nappies for me when my partner had left for the night & I couldn’t stand up to do it, helped me get up and about when I needed and just kept a smile on my face when all I wanted to do was cry with pain and exhaustion. I wish I could name them all but there was so many, to name a few: Vicki O’Dowd, Lucy, Louise, Helen & student midwife Natalie.

To all the staff on the delivery suite and postnatal ward who took care of me and my baby, I’m eternally grateful. You are amazing people and I cannot thank you enough for everything you did for us.

Thank you so much and keep up your hard work!

Home from a 7 day stay at Bolton Hospital. I was taken by ambulance to A&E with respatory problems. The staff at A&E where fantastic ensuring i was comfortable, and well looked after. They where very busy but didnt allow this to impact on thier care. I was admitted onto D1 ward medical assessment unit where i spent three days being cared for by the staff, again they where very busy yet the care was amazing they where all very professional with their care and kept an upbeat calm atmosphere on the ward. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I did notice they had quite a few difficult patients to deal with but the professionalism never faltered. I was then moved to D4 where i spent the rest of my stay. Again i have no complaints regarding my stay all the staff where caring and professional. There where quite a few elderly patients on this ward and it was heart warming to see how they cared for them, with respect and dignity they went out of their way to ensure everone was comfortable and feeling as well as possible. My last day at Bolton hospital was spent in the discharge lounge, admittedly this was a long day, as there had been a problem getting my medications, but things happen and sometimes cant be avoided. Boy was this an eye opener. How some of the patients treated the staff here was shocking, yet again the staff where professional and did thier best to still provide care and co ordinate transport again going above and beyond. Thankyou to all at Bolton you definitely get more then a 5 star rating from me. My care was 100%.

Great hospital my son was injured in rugby was taken there 6/10/2018 and what a great service from doctors and all staff he received I would say the service was outstanding Thank you all at emergency department.

Broke my patella on February 12th 2018. Slipped on icy road. Paramedics were brilliant and I was seen to very quickly in A&E. Had a bit of a wait for an X-ray but after that the care I received on F3 and M1 was excellent. The anaesthetist were so good with me as I was so scared to have the surgery required but I needn’t have worried, they were fantastic and the staff that looked after me in recovery were so nice. I was allowed home after 11 days. Big THANK YOU! to all staff you are INCREDIBLE!!

Once again, want to thank all the staff for their care and attention these last two days whilst having hardware removal. Special thanks to Mr Jarratt and his team and everyone on G5 xx

A very busy children's A&E this morning but my son's broken finger was dealt with and treated in two hours, and everyone who helped us was lovely, cheerful and caring. Very impressed with the care he received today. Thanks Royal Bolton Hospital Children's A&E.

A massive THANK YOU to all the staff in the hospitals' A&E department, Ward D4 doctors and especially the nursing staff for their hard work and compassion during my mothers short stay this week leading up to her passing away this morning.

I experienced first hand the pressure these wonderful people are under, their committment to providing care and compassion to patients and their relatives was nothing less than marvellous. How the staff cope day after day with the pressure of their work I cannot comprehend. All standards of life pass in front of them and they just deal with it, sometimes with humour and sometimes with tears. Unfortunately they will never be paid enough for the job they do but I am sure that they will get their rewards with inward satisfaction that they have done the best they could for their patients.

Thank you everyone of you
