About Royal British Legion Muswell Hill & Highgate

We are a child-friendly, family-orientated club and membership is open to everyone. You do not have to have served in the Armed Forces to join.

Royal British Legion Muswell Hill & Highgate Description

The Royal British Legion is the UK's leading Armed Forces charity and one of its largest membership organisations. Members meet throughout the country (and overseas) in a network of branches and clubs, for social gatherings, and to participate in fundraising and activities.

Your local branch and club is in Muswell Hill and we are always looking for new members to join.

We are a child-friendly, family-orientated club and membership is open to everyone. You do not have to have served in the Armed Forces to join, merely have an interest in our objectives and want to show support for those who have served and their families.

Our Club is open seven days a week – we have pool and snooker tables, a beer garden, weekly Sunday night bingo, monthly singing and entertainment acts, private parking and a function hall which is open for hire to members (for which we are able to provide private catering on request). You will also have the opportunity to get involved in regional and national events throughout the year.

We also meet formally 4 times a year, at 11am on the first Sunday of the month to discuss Club business, member issues and any upcoming news and events.

By joining the Legion you are ensuring two things:
• Remembrance is kept alive and that the sacrifices our brave Service men and women have made are never forgotten.
• That the ex-Service community have a voice and that their concerns are brought to the public eye.

It also gives you the opportunity to be part of a growing social club within the community.

If you are interested in becoming a member why not come and visit and have a look around. Membership forms are available and we can answer any questions you might have.
You can find us at: The Royal British Legion Club House, Muswell Hill Road, London, N10 3NG.

ABOUT THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION:
We provide financial, social and emotional care and support to all members of the British Armed Forces - past and present and their families. The Legion is also the national Custodian of Remembrance and safeguards the Military Covenant between the nation and its Armed Forces and is best known for the annual Poppy Appeal and its emblem the red poppy.
Founded in 1921, the Legion is not just about those who fought in the two World Wars of the last century, but also about those involved in the many conflicts since 1945 and those still fighting for the freedom we enjoy today.

On the 6 June, 1944, the largest seaborne invasion force in history set sail for France on a mission to liberate Europe.

Each man carried a pack, a rifle, and the world’s hopes for freedom. Aged just 20 and newly married, George Skipper was ...one of those men.
75 years ago, George faced an uncertain future fighting for our liberty on the beaches of Normandy. This is his story ...

While it might be true that there's no such thing as a free lunch, Toby Carvery are making a special exception for the Armed Forces next month.
As thank you for their service, the famous roast dinner hot spot is giving all members of the Armed Forces a free carvery or all you can eat breakfast.
The free meal is available to all military personnel, including the British Army, Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force, serving troops, reserves, veterans and cadets.
... Available on Saturday 29th June, it's all part of National Armed Forces Day, and you'll need to download your voucher on the Toby Carvery app (available on both Apple and Android phones) to claim yours.
Usually £5.99, the restaurant announced news of their kind gesture today, alongside the statement "We can't thank you enough, but we can start with a free roast".

For our Armed Forces Day commemorations this year, we will be making a weekend of it ...
Starting on the evening of Saturday 29th June, we will have entertainment from vocalist and guitarist Daren Francis. Entry is £3/person (which will be a donation to the Poppy Appeal) and the show starts at 8pm.
Then on Sunday 30th June, from 2.30pm, we will be hosting our formal commemorations of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services in our Remembrance Garden, with a service led by the ...Rev Fr Nicholas Pnematicatos.
Following the service, we will be holding a BBQ in the Club garden, with a raffle, tombola and other surprises!
This is one of the most important days in our Branch and Club calendar, and we would encourage all members to please attend. So please show your support for our Armed Forces and Emergency Services and get involved!
