Mau staff were brilliant with my father. He got moved to ccu we followed on foot and was told to wait. After speaking to 3 different staff members and being told again to wait.... 1hr 45 dad called us to find out where we was! The staff didn't know we was there. So communication is shocking.
Also car parking is horrendous. Give yourself plenty as in 45mins or more extra to find a space as you'll be queuing in the one way system. Busy hospitals should have had a multi story car park!

Bright, clean, modern and massive. A & E department and helicopter pad.
Helpful and friendly staff that do their absolute best normally under difficult conditions.
Multiple shops and cafes for those who are visiting.

Staff in hospital fantastic especially the staff on ward 313 who cared for me whilst I stayed. All staff very friendly and helpful

Very happy with the staff. They are all caring & helpful whilst my dad was in ICU & when he was moved to a ward. The nurses & care assistants went above & beyond for him. Also the wards all gave changing facility's for babies which is very handy.

We visited the area, whilst on holiday and our friends son had a accident on a quad bike. What a efficient service seen in a timely manner. Staff was helpful. Don't plan on going back but with no help all the negativity about the NHS this hospital is a example of a well organised hospital.

The doctor and nurse were excellent on ward 305 specially to dr andrew cole to me.

All the people I came into contact with were kind and helpful. Consultant treated me like an important person, the nursing staff reassuring honest helpful and kind. Food providers/cleaners/porter all cared about all of us 'in mates' the only negative is that my op was in the late afternoon and i was there from half seven, that of course is the administration who decided the list not the medical staff. I have given 5 stars because i think it is a wonderful hospital, they also recently looked after my elderly father in law on the dementia ward. They were also caring and sensitive with him and with us as he came to the end of his life they took over finding a lovely nursing home for him to end his days with peace & dignity. WELL DONE DERBY ROYAL TOP NOTCH HOSPITAL

Nurses are great, really clean rooms and wards. Doctors are quick don't seem to spend much time with you tho. Parking is a bit of a nightmare, make sure you add a few minutes to your journey time to find a space

Lovely hospital does exactly what it says on the "tin". The specialist doctors and nurses are brilliant, caring and hard working. The only downside for me is that I have to travel all the way from Ilkeston which is a real drag. Why o why did they close the DRI in the middle of Derby

I am in the Royal Derby hospital this is a fantastic Hospital, I've spent a lot of time in here with cardiac trouble . It is still a long road to recovery and with the help of all the staff especially the Nursing staff! I am going to make it through this ordeal,

A&E department is a joke place, Second night after my tonsillectomy surgery, I woke up choking blood (blood was everywhere in my bedroom) my wife star screaming!!!
So I went very quickly to the emergency department in Derby....still badly bleeding!!!
And what.....
I was waited 4 hours to be admitted to anyone for checked my throat. After this waiting hours my bleeding stop a bit and then Doctor call me on examination. He said it was completely normal symptom and I can back home.
In the leaflet after the operation it is written...heavy troat bleeding is very dangerously for life, go immediately to the nearest hospital ? So??? Also after my operation I should be avoid place's like that because risk of infection passing from other people( this is in this informations from hospital. It's not the best idea waiting in the queue with other sick people)
Hygiene of this place is also on low standard. It smells like a homeless shelter.

Derby hospital is very good and modern place, but in my eyes A&E department complete damage this place standard

My husband James Macdonald was taken to A and E on 30thDec 2016 at 8.50 approx. At a very busy time everyone from ambulance ladies to all staff - the nurses, doctors, porters, radiologist, receptionists and domestics were friendly, helpful and very professional.
Thank you all for the great care you gave us at a very worrying time. You were all fabulous.
