MSc Sustainabilty & Management trip to London looking at evidence of super gentrification, community-led regeneration & the role of community gardens in fostering sustainable communities. Big thanks to staff at the Calthorpe Project for their generosity in time & helpfulness.

The Urban Agriculture (London physical geography) group have been sample prepping ahead of Cadmium and Lead analysis in soil, plant material & atmospheric particles collected at the Skip Garden. These will be compared to similar samples collected from a rural allotment.

A wonderful evening last week listening to Msc Sustainability and Management students talking about their sustainability volunteering experiences. They had placements at a range of organisations including Oxfam, Food Cycle, Foodbanks, the Climate Coalition, and Surrey Wildlife Trust.

The ‘Floating Workshop’ in gg3161 Atmospheres: Nature, Culture, Politics is a collective experiment in sensing the wind, weather and solar energy of Royal Holloway’s campus, imagining alternative aero-geographies and futures in the shadow of Heathrow airport and the City of London. The session was taught by Dr Sasha Engelmann in collaboration with the Aerocene community (@aerocene) especially with team members Jol Thomson (@more.than.non.human) and Grace Pappas (@grace_pps)
