Royal Holloway Fencing Description

Welcome to the Royal Holloway, University of London Fencing Club.

Whether you have never fenced before, or have fenced for a long time, Royal Holloway, University of London Fencing Club is welcoming and diverse society which accommodates fencers of all abilities and has a vibrant and friendly social scene.

At the club, you will have the opportunity to fence, and be instructed in all three of the weapons used in fencing: Epee, Foil and Sabre. The aim of our training programme ensures that fencers of all abilities are challenged and progress in their skill. This includes both technique training and friendly bouts with other members of the club. The club also offers fencers the opportunity to compete against other universities in the BUCS league as part of one of our teams, or as an individual fencer in national competitions.

Fencing is excellent for improving concentration and focus, as well as being great for core strength, coordination and balance.

It is not necessary for members to have their own equipment, because as part of your Membership Fee the club provides all the equipment you will need. When attending the club, we ask for our members to wear sporting attire and bring a bottle of water with them.

Social events are an essential part of any university society, and the RHUL Fencing Club is no different. The social aspect of the club is very important and events are held all through the year, where our members can come along and have fun in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

So whether you want to compete in a high-achieving university team, or just take part in a fun and engaging sport, the Royal Holloway, University of London Fencing club is for you.
