On the demise of HMS Mercury in 1993, the home of communications training since 1941, the Communications Faculty was added to the Maritime Warfare School, HMS Collingwood. The Communications Warfare Training Element is responsible for training Royal Navy Communications Information Systems (CIS) personnel, Warfare Officers, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Royal Navy Reservists, Royal Marine Signal Officers, and more. In the Information Age, the faculty strives to be an academic centre of communications and information excellence.
