About Rspca Birmingham Animal Centre And Hospital

The RSPCA Birmingham Centre is based in Frankley, Birmingham - a short distance from Junction 3 of the M5.
On site we have a rehoming centre and hospital.
Please note the Rehoming centre is closed on Tuesday. The Hospital is open every day.

Rspca Birmingham Animal Centre And Hospital Description

The new 72-acre site has been specifically chosen as the perfect location to help animals through rescue, recovery, and rehabilitation. We look after cats, dogs, rabbits and other small domestic animals - at any one time we are caring for over 200 animals.
Most of the animals have been rescued from neglect and bad treatment - when they come to us they are often nervous of strangers. We spend weeks, sometimes months, looking after them preparing them for a new life and a second chance. All our animals are looking for someone to offer them a new home, to be a friend and look after them. In return a pet will offer fun, friendship and loyalty.
We also have an animal hospital on site with a dedicated team of vets, nurses and admin staff who offer a full range of veterinary services, including neutering, microchipping and surgery.
It costs the RSPCA over £1, 000 a day to run the Centre. We rely entirely on kind donations from people like you. If you would like to support us, or you have room in your home and in your heart to take on a rescue animal, please pay us a visit.
Opening hours: 11am - 3. 15pm every day, except Tuesday. Last viewing or meeting your dog is 3pm.

Beautiful Sheba is one of our longest residents and we can't understand why.
When she arrived she was very scared and although she can still be a little hesitant initially she has lots of love to give, Sheba will make a loving companion if only someone would give the chance

Lovely Millie and Georgie were both abandoned by their previous owner, after weeks of investigations we were unable to trace the person responsible so Millie & Georgie are now looking for a new home together again.

Happy #StarWarsDay
Hello,
Messa "Jar Jar" Binks and I am the cat you're looking for!
... Perhaps the Force will awaken inside of your heart and make room for a special soul like me instead of leaving me to be the Last Jedi once more.
I've got a bad feeling that i'm going to be here for a very long time, I have seen so many other cats come and go while everyone keeps walking past me.
Maybe you could be my father (or mother) ?

Just thought I would do a follow up on Luna for you to let you know that she is a very well behaved young lady. When we first got her home, she had non stop cuddles for 4 hours. She settled in very quickly and there has been no toilet accidents. She loves to cuddle and loves her scratching post. She sometimes sleeps under the covers with us. Brushing her is a bit tricky as she tries to bite the brush. However I still manage to comb her a little bit every now and then. I am absolutely shocked as to how friendly she is for a rescue. So thank you from me, Leone and Luna.

Hello, hope you are well.
We adopted Matilda just over two weeks ago now. She has settled in so quickly and we found out with in a couple of days how loving, playful and confident she is. Always running around and playing with all her toys and most definitely loves a cat nap(loves to bury herself under the blankets, can only find her by following the purring ). Her favourite place is her cat tree that she constantly jumps up and down and sleeps on. The more she has been here and reassured the more she has also found her voice, letting us know when she’s hungry or needs affection ! Thank you for finding Matilda her new home and us our new lovely house mate.

This cheeky chap is Grovesnor, he came into our care as a stray. Unfortunately he wasn't microchipped and nobody came looking for him so he is now on the hunt for a new home

We adopted our cat from the RSPCA last week. I was very impressed with the service we received from start to finish. A particular strength I feel is the clear love the staff have for the animals. It’s not just a case of re-homing the animals, they really want to match them to the right home. They have clearly taken the time to get to know the animals as the description of Rose was spot on!

The information pack they give you is very thorough and has helped us to settle Rose into our lifestyle.

I would highly recommend giving a pet a forever home from the RSPCA. The work they do is fabulous!

User

We adopted our cat Archie from this RSPCA centre in February 2015. We were showed round by a lovely lady who was extremely helpful. She suggested we look at a cat she had been looking after since he arrived there a few weeks prior. Thank you so much!! He is the most placid boy who has settled into our home so well. He is fabulous with my step daughter and niece and has never bitten, scratched or hissed at them. The place is very clean and all the animals are kept in excellent conditions. We even had a follow up phone call to check Archie was settling in ok. Keep up the good work taking care of these gorgeous animals until they find their forever homes. Thank you!

User

This is a brilliant centre, we only went to have a look around with our 2 girls and ended up adopting to kittens, which have now been named Fudge and Muffin. They have settled in well and feel like they have been with us forever.

The staff are amazing and very friendly and gave us the best advise for us to adopt the right cat(s) for our family.

User

Thanks to Vic who returned our cat Tigger last week after 15 months away she was chuffed to be able to reunite our long lost friend thanks to the micro chip he has settled in again and our other 3 cats seem very happy to see him again

keep up the good work RSPCA & many thanks again to Vic for working late to get him back to us

User

Thank you so much for taking care of my boy Chopstick when he was brought in as an injured stray.

He managed a few more months of love from us and was lovely to hear the staff cooing over him, as they had remembered him from then.

Above all thank you for your kindness and compassion last night when we had to make the hardest decision of all for our beautiful boy

User

Me and my mum both adopted a kitten and an adult cat from the rspca the facility’s that they have for the animals are great the staff throughout are helpful and friendly lovely place lovely people

User

I would like to thank vets Vaz Tom Nora all the nurses night staff and carers at the rspca Hospital Newbrook Farm for all their expertise experience and total commitment in snatching our baby Bella Jones from a untimely fate although it is early days we cannot thank you enough. Without you all I think the outcome would of been so much different. Xx

User

I just wanted to say that I have been watching the Jo Brands Catsand kittens program where the kittens had cat flu and there yes we're infected so I wanted to tell you about a cat that lives in Cape Verde. He has no eyes - I don't know if he has lost them through infection or if he was born that way but it is absolutely brilliant watching it find its way about. If we speak he finds his way straight to us.

he is incredible.

I am an RSPCA supporter and you all do a brilliant job.

Thank you

I adopted my adorable Pluto from rspca 11 years ago as a puppy.... he really was the best pet dog you could ask for. He was amazing with my teenage children and even better with our growing brood of grandchildren... we had many happy times with him but unfortunately we had to say goodbye to him in may which was heartbreaking!!! Still shed a tear very often but am now starting to think I may be ready to start looking for a new friend to join our family

I adopted Lady Jane about a month ago. She is a beautiful rabbit. The help and advice given from the lady was five star. Lady Jane has settled in and in totally in love with my other rabbit. They bonded within 24 hours and are now inseperable and totally in love.

User

Hello to all the staff you were very helpful when I came to see the dogs in your care.

I saw the dog for me as soon as I set eyes on him,and brought him home Sunday he as settled in well, family love him and I can;t be leave how clever he is .So here is a big thank you for the work you do and for the support given to us from a very happy lady.

User

Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful, The centre is kept clean and and tidy. the sensory garden is a perfect place for the dogs to run free, and for prospective owners to get to know them. My dog Sky has settled in like an old slipper after picking her up just 24 hours ago. i put this down to the love and attention given to her over the last 6 months of her being there. A big thank you for pointing me ( but certainly not pushing) towards the best staffy ever.

User

Couldn't ask for such wonderful and caring people. Our new member of our family Zulu who we have adopted from them has spent nearly 5 months in kennels with them. He is a complete credit it to them, it's obvious that he's been well looked after and loved. If it wasn't for such wonderful people so many animals would suffer unnecessarily. They do a fantastic job and we will be supporting them from now on

User

After looking for are beautiful boy for the past 3 days last night we had a knock at the door from a lovely Gentleman from the rspca he are beautiful boy on board so greatful that you brought are boy home I can not tell you how much respect we have for you he didn't nothing but reassure be but this world is sick and someone had let there dog atack him we too. Him to the vets and sadly we lost him after he tried to fight the meds to put him to sleep he finally gave in so if you could please tell the gentlemen that was on duty in Bedworth cv12pa last night about 9.30 he's such a lovely man we are thankful we got to be with are boy before he past away thankyou so so much I hope you get to read this!!!

User

Adopted Black Jack earlier this week. Whole process from first meeting him to bringing him home only took 3 days. He's a very special cat who's had a bad start in life and has taken a lot of patience and hard work to get him to the point that he can be rehomed. He's settling better than we could have ever imagined and is a credit to all the staff at the centre and the caring, patient hard work that they do.

User

Absolutely brilliant place the staff do an amazing job and really make you feel welcome as we were regular visitors there until we could finally bring our gorgeous dog home and can’t thank them enough for everything they did for her before we were able to adopt her .

User

A really straightforward process right from the beginning. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and guided us towards the right cat for us. We meet a few and staff allowed us to spend enough time with each of them. We reserved our girl Delilah for a couple of days and when we went to get her we were in and out again in under half an hour. If only we could have adopted all the furry friends!

User

Why oh why do you continue to tell members of the public who find ?stray animals - dogs/cats/rabbits/small furries/parrots etc to take them to their local vets and an inspector will collect them from the clinic - only to refuse to collect them when the clinic contacts you.

You never check beforehand with the clinic as to whether they are in a position to take in that animal or keep it until you are able to collect it - you never do collect - always refuse.

I work in a small branch clinic - we close on a Friday evening and reopen on a Monday - so no staff on duty over weekends.

My staff come in to feed and stay with those animals in their own time, yet you have staff on duty evenings, weekends, bank holidays - but you put the onus on us to rehome stray animals that you have told finders to bring to us and that you will collect, but refuse to - despite you being a rehoming centre.

Why do you portray such a different attitude/outlook when the television cameras are filming you.

User

£75 for a kitten and your now refusing to vaccinate it because it's out of date. When I rang last week you were unhelpful and never mentioned they went out of date. You're holding off neutering them because of a shortage when I have paid for it and you're now telling me to pay for it again at my own vet. I'm not made of money.
