Like his name, Fonzie is a cool dude! At just 3 years old, he is very friendly and affectionate. He loves being scratched and tickled and also enjoys being brushed which will be a good way for new owners to bond with him. He enjoys outside space and whilst we haven’t seen him playing with toys we feel his playful side may well come out in the future. He soon settled in here so we think he won’t take long to adjust to his new furr-ever home. He loves company and will happily sit with you; Fonzie loves his food and treats too! He can be re-homed with children 5+ and, depending on compatability, a cat-friendly dog and another cat as he has lived with all of these previously.

In this album you will find all the cats currently available for adoption here at the animal centre. Our viewing times are between 11am-3:30pm.

Tigsy This mature lady is looking for a comfy forever home to retire to! At approximately 9 years of age she is looking for a calm environment with children over the age of 16. She is a very friendly and affectionate girl who will actively seek cuddles and chin scratches. She likes to be picked up and held as she enjoys close contact, we think she will soon become a lap-cat! She is also quite a confident girl and likes to come out and explore but enjoys human company more than anything else. We haven't seen Tigsy playing with toys but she has shown some interest when encouraged, so a more playful behaviour may develop once she is settled. Tigsy would love to be the centre of attention so cannot be rehomed with any other pets.

This is Geoff, at approximately 3 years of age, he is a very sweet boy who loves attention and affection. He relaxes in his bed a lot of the time but will meow for attention; he's a little shy and nervous of new people but soon comes round when stroked. His favourite thing is to be groomed, he loves it and will drool whilst being brushed! This would be good for bonding with his new owners and also necessary to keep his beautiful long coat in tip t...op condition. He can be unsure of new surroundings and will need time and space to settle in. A mature, quiet home would suit Geoff best with people who will be patient with him while he adjusts. We have not seen a playful side to Geoff here as he has shown no interest in toys but this could change with encouragement; older children of 12+ will be best for Geoff. We have found him to be fine around other cats so could live with another feline friend. As he’s fairly calm, he may be able to live with a cat friendly dog.

Prince has responded well to training here at the centre, he is eager to please and give you his focus. He knows basic commands and has good recall providing that there are no distractions. Prince would definitely benefit from further positive reward based tra...ining to keep his mind active and encourage good behaviours.
Prince is a playful boy; he loves attention and affection.
We are looking for a family who will not be leaving him alone for long periods of time.
Prince is suitable to live with children 15+ and potentially another dog based on compatibility. Prince is not to be rehomed with cats.

Wurzel is a 3 year old cat looking for his forever home.
He is a very affectionate boy who loves human company and Wurzel would love a home where he will receive lots of love and attention. He can be shy of new people and new environments so he can be spooked quite easily but given time to settle he will soon relax and show his personality.
We have found Wurzel to be a playful cat; He will play on his own or interactively but he much prefers the attention and interaction wit...h people.
Wurzel is suitable to live with other cats, a cat-confident dog and children over the age of 8.

This pretty tabby Pookie who is approximately 4 years old is looking for her purr-fect family; she is a shy girl but friendly when approached slowly. As she is a sensitive girl who can be a little nervous around new people and situations she needs a calm home with sensible children over the age of 12 who will give her the space that she needs. She will interact if she isn’t rushed and although we haven't seen her play here this could change in a home when she feels safe and secure. She does enjoy being stroked and having a tickle but will walk away when she has had enough. She will need time and patience to adjust to her new environment and needs help to boost her confidence. She will make a lovely addition to the right household where she would like to be the only pet.

Love him to bits. This place does a great job and its lovely to see when the animals get their forever homes

We adopted our dog from here. Staff very helpful with help and advice that we needed. No question was unanswered. We are now a happy family of three ��

We adopted Ashley and George (now Oscar and Otis) and the guidance we were given by the RSPCA was spot on - the cats are adorable and it’s a pleasure watching them evolve from timid cats to a very active part of the family 😍

Many thanks for sending a retired gentleman to Carla Lane Animals in Need Liverpool. He was looking to adopt an older small dog and you had nothing suitable for him and recommended us. I have just delivered a 15 year old Jack Russell to him, who is still very well and sprightly. His owner had died and he had been adopted from us 10 years previously. His new owner is thrilled to bits with him and Bobby looked pretty pleased to! We appreciate your recommendation. Tracey x

Lovely cattery and staff. I have had the great pleasure of adopting two boys from here at different times, Pirate (aka Roger) & Herbie (RIP). As soon as I have room and another golden oldie is looking for a home I will be straight over for a meet and greet. The staff are helpful and care so much about their furry residents. They were more than happy for me to visit shy boy Pirate everyday while we were waiting for that all important home check, it made his transition to his forever home so much less stressful for him.

I would also recommend volunteering, they gratefully accept the help and time you can spare. They welcome you in as part of the team and there is no pressuring you to do more than you are able.

Just a quick text, took Bambi home on Thursday 8th Sep, now called nugget an e as settled in well, all the family love him so much, even our dog Tia X thanks to the knowledgeable staff xx

It's amazing me and my partner Paul went to volunteer to walk the dog's but we've stopped going for a while due to me having Carpel tunnel in both wrists and problems with or Living room window condensation huge puddles being left on wood were the window sits it's a night mare

Helped me rehome my mums dog when my dad died as it was too much for her . The staff are amazing. Happy Christmas everyone

Had our 2 little Jack Russell's bubble and squeak 9 months now. Absolutely adore them, all the rspca staff are so helpful, and helped to get these 2 home with us soon as possible!

Had little Bobbie for just over a week now and he's made himself quite at home and had settled in within the first day. He's such a lovely kitty who loves his ears being scratched and loves being centre of attention. Thank you to the RSPCA Southport for all their help. Absolutely amazing staff! �

Great place great rescue centre x I got my border collie from there (Tobi) they do a lot of good & there dog shows are well organised lots to do & fun for everyone x it a clean & pleasant place & the staff are fantastic x
