Good News Story: Little Treasure came to us as a feral. She had one of the shortest stays with us, and her story is a great example of team work. We were asked by the RSPCA Networking team to take her on, they neutered and microchipped her and drove her from another Inspectorate area to us, our Chairman then drove her to her new home with the lovely Jennifer in Herefordshire. Our chairman went to visit her yesterday, she comes to Jennifer calling her, has fields and several barns to play in, and ducks for company. We often have cats who for one reason or another need this type of free living space. We are currently seeking outdoor accommodation for our boy Bananas. If you can offer a loving home to Bananas, please call our centre on 01905 821 272 option 2.

The pond area now has its new fencing and access path to the wild flower area. This will be started very soon. A peaceful and relaxing area with wonderful views of the Malvern Hills.

RSPCA Worcester and Mid-worcestershire Branch are hosting an anniversary celebration of the founding of the RSPCA on Sunday 16th June 2019.
We warmly invite members of the public to join us on our Open Day to enjoy some delicious refreshments against a beautiful backdrop of the Malvern Hills.
Tea, Coffee, and a selection of tempting cakes will be available, or Pimms and Prossecco for those who prefer a tipple or two! We will be firing up our BBQ and Grill to serve up our lo...cally renowned hunger busting vegan and vegetarian burgers.
Children are welcome and will be entertained with face painting and a variety of children's crafts. A meet and greet with members of the team will enable children to learn more about the work that we do and about the animals that we have in our care.
We will also host a raffle and tombola with some fabulous prizes up for grabs on the day in order to raise much needed funds for the rehoming centre.
Guests may also enjoy a cruelty free day at the races and take advantage of a unique opportunity to participate in our ponycycle racing tournament (suitable for both adults and children.)
For the less adventurous our newly opened centre shop will be well stocked with a variety of both new and used goods to suit every budget.
We hope to see you there.

Our boy Bananas. We think Bananas is about 8 years old, he came into our care as an injured stray, suffering all the usual fight wounds of an entire male cat. He is very nervous, and scared at the moment. He is responding to some of the girls loving care. He has been neutered and microchipped, and we are now seeking a permanent home for him. We think he would suit an outdoor life, employed as rodent control. In lieu of wages he requires shelter, a warm bed, and three meals a day. For more information on this lovely boy please call our centre on 01905 821 272 option 2.

SPECIAL APPEAL FOR BRUCE
We are looking for a very special home for our special boy Bruce. He is a 6 year old small brindle and white Staffie cross with exceptional needs. Bruce is a lovely friendly affectionate boy, good with other dogs and cats, however we would prefer he was the only dog in the household. Bruce is very scared of new houses and different situations. At the kennels he is happy, relaxed and loves everyone he knows and his familiar surroundings.
... However, in a new home he would be very nervous and get easily spooked by noises. We feel this unusual behaviour has been caused by someone or something in his past, which has made him very unsure and on high alert, until he really gets to know someone well and can completely trust them and feel "at home".
So we are looking for someone in a quiet home, who can give Bruce the time, patience and understanding he so deserves. We would not normally suggest this, but feel for Bruce it may be the only way of introducing him to a new home, where he can in time feel relaxed and happy. Initially, a kennel in the garden may be the best way of Bruce getting to really know his new surroundings and trust his new carer. We feel sure, given time, he will be happy coming into the house for short spells and then increase the time he spends indoors. Hopefully he will realise it's really quite nice inside with company and much better than being in the garden in a kennel !!
Are you that special person who could help Bruce and are you up for a challenge ? The rewards would be great - he really is a wonderful boy and would be such a loving companion, once he got used to his new home and surroundings.
Please call Geraldine on 01886 822083 for more information.

Willow is no longer behind bars.
Followers of this page, will remember in 2018 we launched an appeal to find a one in a million home for our long stay girl Willow. Although just wonderful, Willow could be very naughty and would at times lash out unpredictably. Two wonderful people came forward and offered a home to Willow, in which she would be accepted as the cat she is. On Jan 14th 2019 Willow went to her one in a million home.... John and Cheryl have shared with us her update story and photos:
As promised here are some photos of Willow. She has turned into such a trusting and affectionate cat, following me around the yard, helping muck out and do all the jobs! She has a great time exploring the fields and the stables roof. She pretends to get stuck and looks all frightened so John rescues her from the roof and she just lets him get hold of her and lift her down like a rag doll. It has happened a few times now. I am not so tall so she has to get herself back down which takes her a while of meowing and looking desperate! If I sit down on the bench by the barn she jumps up on my knee and purrs like a tractor. And drools! She has lots of beds around the barn and feed room so we generally find her in one place or another in the mornings. We bought her a heated bed which is on a timer so she uses that on colder nights. In the cold weather we left it on all the time which she loved. We could always find her in that bed in the winter. She is eating well and has a nice selection of meat and biscuits and some treats each night and seems to like the variety we give her. I think she has toned up as over the last couple of Weeks she seems to be a bit leaner but more muscly. Probably all the exercise she is getting. Quite often when I get home she is out and about but reappears by tea time and again at supper time. It is pretty rare that she is not around and if she isn’t then a call usually gets her to appear. She loves playing. Today I was cleaning some of the horse hair off some towels before I put them in the washing machine and she was chasing the balls of hair as they blew across the yard. I hope you can see from the photos and the update that she has settled well in the three months she has been here and has become an affectionate relaxed cat. We have no problems with her. She is always looking for attention and a stroke. We are really pleased with how she is turning out and hope you all will be too.
Kind regards,
John and Cheryl.

Please meet Frankie. He is approx. 5 years old. He has bi-lateral Entropion ( ingrowing eyelashes). He also has an undescended testicle, he will have an operation this week to rectify both issues. Sadly he also has tested positive to Felv, he is not currently suffering from the acute stage of this virus, and is a happy, friendly, loving boy. This virus means he will have a limited life, approx. three years, and he will need to live as the only cat in the household and live as an indoor cat, we think he will be quite happy with this arrangement. Once Frankie has fully recovered from his operations we shall be seeking a permanent home for him. If you feel you could be Frankie's new family and would like more information on him. Please call 01905 841 354.

Just had a lovely morning at your Easter open day. First of all I would like to say a big thank you to all the gate staff who kindly helped me when the car got stuck in the mud on the field. I found all the staff very polite friendly and helpful. Looking around the cats and rabbits I could see they are well looked after and there pens were clean and tidy. Thank you for a wonderful morning and I'll be up soon with the donation cat food I forgot to bring today. Keep up the good work. Been up again today 15/07/18 to your dog show and I must say yet again you have put on a fabulous event. Me and Rosey really enjoyed it and she also won a 3rd place rosette. I big thanks for putting these events on and we're looking forward to seeing you again soon.

User

I would just like to say a BIG THANK YOU for responding to my call this morning....involving a Swift which had become trapped between guttering and the roof tiles.....Within 2hours from making the call one of your fantastic crew came out and saved the day.....and the bird....A HAPPY HAPPY ending x

User

I took my mum to today's event and we had a wonderful time. The Bunnery and Cattery are fantastic. All very clean, well-maintained and with plenty of space for the cats and rabbits. I just had to meet the cats and had much love from everyone who wasn't sleeping. If I didn't already have 15 rescue kitties living with me I know I'd be adopting some. I do hope all the animals find their forever homes very soon so that more can be rescued. I will also be coming out for further events as it all helps with vet costs and getting the dog kennels built.

I Photographed hundreds of rescues for the RSPCA - the RSPCA genuinely do everything they can to keep these animals in comfort until they find a home. 👏🏻😌📷

I've thought LONG and HARD about this posting but I am sick and fed up of the RSPCA giving out all this crap - I am sorry if some of their genuine supporters are feeling threatened etc but please look long and hard and the truth will come out. So in the meantime, the following is an open letter to the RSPCA and all it's supporters of what actually happened on that fateful Saturday. I am sure the girls will post their recollections under and I will add them to this post.

WE ARE NOT LIARS, THIS IS THE WHOLE TRUTH AND WE HAVE WITNESSES TO PROVE IT.

14th July 2018

At 11.31 am I was requested by a local farmer who farms the land adjacent to Team Thor/Annette Nally’s yard to come and give my opinion and try to help the horses that were on the land – he said he thought there was a dead horse in the barn.

When I arrived on the premises I started looking at the horses in the 3 stables and found a mare with a foal of approx. three or four months – both were extremely emaciated and had no water or food, their bedding was filthy and covered in faeces and stank of urine. Next stable was a chestnut stallion with a heavy stable rug on – he was extremely emaciated and after doing a pinch test found him dehydrated – he again had no food or water and was eating his faeces.

In the third stable was a bay horse – he also had no food or water and was emaciated.

I moved round to the barn, which was padlocked, I looked through the gap in the door to see 3 horses, 2 x chestnuts and a bay, all emaciated with no food – I moved round the side of the barn and looked thru the slats to see a chestnut horse laying dead on the filthy floor in the same area as the three horses. There were lots of faeces around his backend and his body was bloated – he had been dead for a while.

I moved to investigate the horses in the fields – in the first field was a dark coloured horse who was on his own – he looked in poor condition. The adjacent field had two coloured ponies – a mare and her foal who were thin but not as poor as the other horses. In the same field standing by the water trough was a chestnut horse with a fly rug on – its protruding ribs/hips etc could be seen through the rug, its feet were in a dreadful condition and he was standing with wire wrapped round his legs, there was no hay in the field and the water trough was empty.

In the adjacent field – which shared the same empty water trough – were five horses – four were wearing NEW ZEALAND type waterproof rugs – every single horse was emaciated and their feet were in a dreadful condition. The temperature was over 26deg that day and when we removed the NZ rugs, the horses had long term sweat marks and rug rubs over their protruding bones. The horse with the blue NZ rug had what looked like a bite mark on its neck and the flies were bothering it. We videod everything before removing the horses rugs and started giving them water and hay – there was NO HAY on site.!!!! There were 16 live horses and one dead horse on this site of 5 acres – BHS suggest 1 horse per acre and that’s when there is adequate grazing!!!

I immediately I tried phoning World Horse Welfare but sadly only getting their answer machine stating they were open Mon to Friday and would deal with it in office hours – this was an emergency so I rang the Police – got an incident number etc and begged them to send officers and someone to help – they said they would contact the RSPCA – I BEGGED THEM TO GET IN TOUCH WITH ANY OTHER WELFARE ORGANISATION BUT NOT THE RSPCA, BECAUSE I HAD NO FAITH IN THEM!!!! Having seen and read about previous welfare cases and contacted the RSPCA on another unrelated welfare case and the RSPCA NEVER turning up – I was naturally VERY apprehensive.

At 12.36 the RSPCA (0114 450 3520) rang to get further information of the exact location of the site. I told the operatior again in no uncertain terms that I didn’t have any faith in their ability to do anything about these horses and my reason why. She assured me they would get this sorted and my final words to her were ‘YOU PROVE ME WRONG BECAUSE IF YOU DON’T THE PROVERBIAL WILL HIT THE FAN!!!!’

I had an appointment in Droitwich so left the girls giving the horses water and hay.

At 15.30 I had a phone call saying the RSPCA were going to allow the woman Annette Nally to continue to look after these horses.

At 15.51 I went down to the yard and noted the RSPCA were there along with the owner of the land Andrew Herbert – enraged at what I had been told I requested the RSPCA officer meet me across the field – he eventually walked over along with Andrew Herbert and I asked the Inspector on the scene if he could give us an idea of what they were going to do – he said he didn’t need to inform me of anything – I said as a courtesy to me for being the person who was first involved with reporting these horses and getting the RSPCA involved it would be helpful to let us know what their intentions were.

Again he refused to tell me anything – I asked whether he realised this was a rescue centre Team Thor – he said he didn’t know that it was – I asked whether he knew the person running Team Thor – Annette Nally – he said no but that they (the RSPCA) had prosecuted someone to do with Team Thor a couple of years ago.

He informed me that the owner (Annette Nally) would be coming back at approximately 21.00hrs tonight she was on the south coast rescuing another animal!! I said dear God not to bring the poor animal back here to this awful situation. I asked him to give me assurances that the RSPCA would NOT HAND OVER ANY OF THESE HORSES TO ANNETTE NALLY’S CARE – he said that was nothing to do with me!!!!

On Sunday 15th July around 14.00 I visited the site and spoke to a female Senior Area Officer, she assured me that the horses that had left were being cared for on another RSPCA welfare site. I asked whether any had been returned to Annette Nally, she said no. I also informed her that as I was one of the first to find the horses and in fact it was myself that rang the Police, I would be more than happy to give a statement to help them with a cruelty prosecution against this woman - she said they would be in touch. TO DATE NO ONE FROM THE RSPCA HAS CONTACTED ME.

I have heard lots of awful things since Sunday about the possible whereabouts of some of the horses and who's horses they were. That is not for me to post, others have evidence etc to do that.

This is FACTUAL, I HAVEN’T MADE ANYTHING UP AND I HAVE PROOF OF EVERYTHING STATED ABOVE.

I am sure the girls who were here over the Saturday and Sunday will add their statements to the bottom here.

WE KNOW HOW MANY HORSES WE FOUND ON THE SITE, WE KNOW HOW MANY LEFT ON THE TRANSPORTER ON SUNDAY AND WE KNOW AND HEARD MANY WERE SHOT OR REMOVED TO ANOTHER OF ANNETTE NALLY’S YARDS.

SO RSPCA WITH YOUR ‘OFFICIAL STATEMENTS’ WHO IS TELLING THE TRUTH – IN THE END IT WILL COME OUT AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO PROBE AND ASK AND COLLECT EVIDENCE AGAINST THOSE WHO ALLOWED THESE POOR VUNERABLE HORSES SUFFER IN SUCH AN AWFUL WAY.

ON YOUR HEAD BE IT!!!!!
