Rugrats & Halfpints, Banbury Description

Committed to providing a safe, clean and stimulating environment with emphasis on fun, Rugrats and Half Pints is the soft play centre you have been waiting for.

Designed by a mother of two, frustrated by the limited provision of activities for the younger children, we decided to build this unique activity centre to support other mums with babies. With advice from leading sensory experts, we designed the UK's largest baby and toddler soft play area, incorporating sensory equipment to stimulate and develop your little rugrat.

With the grown up's in mind, we created a stylish and airy cafe, with high quality refreshments in a calm and relaxing environment.

Rugrats and Half Pints makes the perfect day out for both parents and the kids!

We took my Daughter on Sunday for her 3rd birthday along her 6 year old brother and a poorly 10 year old brother (his appendix had been removed). Staff were friendly. We opted for the eat and play option. My daughter had not been since she was a baby. She was off like a rocket with her brother. We ordered cheesy chips to share and they came very quickly even though it was busy. The children's meals came hot and quickly as well. The only bad thing was trying to leave. They did not want to go. Thank you for making it a memorable day and we will be back soon.

User

This place saved the day today. I can imagine too many big kids will make this place a hard time for parents of younger children during half term or at weekends but our midweek mid afternoon visit today was miles ahead of any of the soft plays we have visited previously across the south west.

There were more activities than our 18 month old could get through in one visit and the attention to detail and expansive choice of play made me feel like a big kid too.

Menu was great, food was not overpriced when factoring in the convenience... a well earned 5 stars and I urge anybody visiting the area with kids to seek this place out.

User

My daughter had her 6th birthday party there along with 10 of her friends and they had an amazing time here. I’ve heard that quite a few can’t wait to go back including my daughter. Thank you so much for making the day amazing x

User

My children love it here very good place on rainy school holiday x

User

Kids love it here also took my youngest two weeks ago and the lovely emma Collins came over and mentioned she was doing photos so thought why not as little one didn't have any professional photos and she was absolutely fantastic with the kids and got some pretty amazing photos ! Worth going along !

User

Amazing food and nice and clean play area. Definitely would go again. Good price to play too!

User

We took our 16 month old son on Saturday and he thoroughly enjoyed the sensory area. Plenty for him to explore and look at, kept him entertained for over an hour.

I understand that older children can play in this area with a younger siblings. I have no issue with this until they are being disruptive. I had to kindly ask two older children to be silly elsewhere in order to not hurt my son.

I also thought the baby changing unit wasn't very private, almost an after thought, and currently in the way.

However I felt it was value for money and would bring my son back.

User

Rugrats is one of my top softplays to take my kids. We live an hour away and will happily drive it to come. The food is good with plenty of healthier snacks available, there is a great range of activities for all children's ages, including a sensory area catering for babies (something that is quite rare I've found). On a weekend it can be pretty overwhelming with the amount of people there, but the only problem this seems to pose is in finding a table to sit at, the kids still got to play on everything they wanted to. The 6 new trampolines are awesome, so much better than the two large ones they have replaced. The only thing I would say that lets it down is the toilets and floor in the table area - by the end of the day they are pretty dirty, toilet roll had run out and the floors were all wet, in the seating area it is impossible to walk around without getting your socks covered in food - although during the week this seems to be managed better, it wouldn't take much to check the toilets more often and sweep the floors better when it's busy at the weekend and I'd give it a 5.

User

My son and I love going to Rugrats but it is so frustrating when 3+ years are in the under 3 section. I've seen one staff members who is great at asking the older children to leave but the majority aren't bothered (though I think this should also be down to parents..)

User

Enjoyable few hours out with my 16 month old, he was all over the place as there was so much for him to look at and to do. The sensory area was excellent and the main soft play was clean and well kept. No hesitation to recommend this place to others.

User

It’s brilliant but the massive let down is when all the over 3’s are in the baby area and it gets dangerous. Almost seems like there aren’t enough staff to deal with it. Needs more reinforcement.

User

I took my children here today they really enjoyed it and there was plenty to do for there age groups. The only thing that let it down was the cleanliness of the place. The tables were not cleared from the previous people who had ordered food. I was there for 2 hrs and none of the tables round us had been cleaned.i had only seen 2 members of staff the whole time I was there and for a sat afternoon I would of thought you would of had more.

User

I think it is over priced for what it is. The food is very expensive for what it is also. The toilets are dirty and the floor in the toilets is wet. When we ordered food they had run out of 3 things on the menu. Kids not happy.

User

During the week in term time I enjoy taking my son to Rugrats but weekends and holidays are just crazy! There never seems to be any staff at reception or the cafe. The toilets and seating areas are always filthy and never anyone cleaning up. The baby area is always full of older children, I appreciate they may be coming to see siblings but 2 children around aged 10 were doing handstands today and nearly fell on a baby. A staff member saw them doing this and just said be careful girls. I've been to other soft plays that have the baby/toddler area gated off and I think this is needed! In general I think rugrats has some brilliant equipment and they seem to add to the equipment often, if it was staffed better it would be great!

User

So rugrats today, me, my 2 children/brother and mother. Ordered food, the chips were feeezing and my chicken burger was rock hard. Then I was on my way back into the premises when one of the staff said ‘that’s sad having that sticker on a car’ to her colleague who for some reason found it highly amusing.... it just happened to be my brothers Audi r8 who happens to be a car fanatic and attends meets so had a 15cm sticker in the corner of his window with an Instagram page on it. Thirdly there was a party that started at 3pm, one blonde staff member turned to a colleague and the person having the party and said loud enough for me to hear ‘I’ve told the people sat on the chairs to move right now’ (I wasn’t sat there) so basically the food and the politeness of staff was pretty diabolical. Who is the girl to comment on someone else’s property and also maybe ASKING people to vacate the seating area instead of TELLING them to move

User

Okay but too much stress with an under 3. Loads of older kids causing problems and risks in baby/toddler area and staff are definitely not proactive or responsive enough when they do despite some of the comments about monitoring. Feels unsafe with very little ones. We therefore go sporadically when it is quiet but even then it only takes 3 or 4 older ones charging about, running along the walls for us to leave. A good new year's resolution for this place would be to look much more closely at toddler area and politely ask older kids and if necessary parents to respect the rules. Morning of Friday 22nd Dec was poor and I don't think there is a reasonable excuse for walking past kids standing on the toddler walls and bashing each other with the foam cylinders and saying nowt.

User

I’ve been to Rugrats a few times but I visited on Saturday 18th November and was really disappointed.

The toilets were disgusting; one was closed, the other hadn’t been checked for a few hours and was blocked, no toilet paper.

There seemed to be a total lack of management; our food took ages to come despite the fact we ordered early. And then our dirty plates sat on our table for over an hour before anyone cleared them away.

Won’t be back in a hurry!

User

Great fun for kids but the big let down is when many big kids way over 3’s (6-8 of age) are in the baby area !My one year old got pushed few times by much older kids and it didn't seem safe in fact I left earlier as I was worried my little one would get hurt and I don't know if I 'll come back just for this reason. Staff should deal with it by at least mention it to families with big kids when they arrived at the reception just before payment. Also many parents took over many tables in the food area without consuming food or drink. So we could not stay and we went elsewhere for lunch.

User

Came today with hardly any people, not busy at all but still told 2 hour limit, I understand in busy times but we were also planning to eat! For the money when you take 3 children and want to eat there’s not much time at all
