London's oldest restaurant is taking a short break. From 10 -13 October 2017 we will be closing for essential maintenance to make sure we are here for another 200 years!

User

Went here 03.03 for my birthday... Amazing.. Was great food really nicely cooked and the flavours were wonderful... Staff lovely very friend helpful could not do enough... Thank you for a great experience

User

Well this has to be the favourite place for me and my partner to dine!

We came again last night and quite frankly can’t wait to come back!!

User

We went to Rules to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and weren’t disappointed. We were greeted warmly by the concierge and shown to a beautifully laid table. The staff and the food were fabulous. We would love to return on another occasion.

We stepped out of our limo,

and immediately we were greeted by a smiling concierge who helped us inside to the warmest cheerful staff and a place of great welcome !

Service which started at the pavement continued through every minute of our time in Rules !

Cocktails , wine just great , and food was so so good too !

I had Irish mussels in honour of St Patrick‚Äôs celebrations ÔŅĹ and Robbie had pickled herrings.

We continued with the most perfectly cooked Sunday roast rib of beef on shared platter , fit for an army , and served with Savoy cabbage and creamiest potatoes, with a beautiful Yorkshire pudding and gravy that just made the finish to perfect mains .

Pistachio ice cream made on premises , and crumble with real home made custard jut topped off our great day!

Go to Rules when in London and you will never forget the warmest experience. I can’t wait to return !

Thanks everyone st Rules , you made St Patricks weekend great !

User

We both enjoyed venison stroganoff (we didn't have a starter ) then English cheese board for me and Stilton cheese board for les a gorgeous bottle of wine two cheeky ports the whole evening was fantastic the setting has more history than a museum will return

User

We booked a family table to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed. Absolutely superb food and great service. Thank you.

User

Thoroughly enjoyed an evening with friends in this fabulous restaurant. Katarina, our waitress did an amazing job assisting in making the evening memorable. A definite recommend.

User

My social media girl, recommended and booked is in.

It‚Äôs an absolute Gem in Covent Garden, absolutely worth the journey, service, food preparation and presentation world class. There is a ‚Äúgame‚ÄĚ theme which dates back many years, and the menu ( which includes Game items ) was amazing on every level.

User

My favourite restaurant in London, service and food outstanding. The staff are knowledgeable and take their time explaining questions you ask, nothing is to much trouble. ūüĎŹūüĎŹūüĎŹ

User

Love this place have been many times! Not a bad word to say about any element of it.

User

It has been 25 years since I last went to Rules and was reluctant to return as the happy memories of dining there with my Dad I did not want to be disappointed. It was exactly the same as I remembered.

I should not have been worried the experience end to end was thoroughly agreeable. I highly recommend the ‚ÄúRules‚ÄĚ cocktail which I had on arrival.

The food was excellent, I ordered the Dorset Crab, Rump Steak with a side of the chicory, blue cheese and walnut salad (a recommendation of the waitress) followed by the chocolate dessert. My Husband had quail, spiced lamb then cheese. There was not a morsel left on the plates.

Our server was polite and attentive and made the meal seamless.

Yes it is expensive, yes the waiting staff are traditional in their execution and discreet but you are paying not just for foot but for the traditional experience and ambience which is Rules.

It will not be another 25years until I go back. Fingers crossed my husband will be booking again for our anniversary next year.ÔŅĹ

User

I cannot speak highly enough about Rules. The food was fantastic, the service second to none and the staff very friendly. The tastiest, most relaxed lunch. The rabbit and sponge pudding are the best!

User

Good food and great service. 5 star service from the minute you are greeted by the doorman.

User

Fantastic food, superb cocktails and the most amazing service. The best restaurant I’ve been lucky enough to go to!

User

Excellent service from the second we approached the door...

Cocktails on the first floor are very good indeed, the Alhambra was to die for.

All three courses were basically perfect, and delivered without fuss, and with a sense of humour, which was unexpected!

My fiancée and I are now trying to think up feeble excuses for a return visit...

User

Beautiful place, I love it Steve and Giorgo ( I am not sure if that was his name) was amazing, service was five star, style was amazing! Amazing place definetly go here!

User

Amazing! Genuinely been on a quest for steak and kidney pudding like my mum used to make for a very long time. My wait is over, beautifully served, in a beautiful setting just before seeing a show for our wedding anniversary. You made a great afternoon 5‚ėÜ .

User

If the service hadn’t been so slow and somewhat disjointed I would have given it a 5. Mind you, it was a very busy Saturday evening. The menu is definitely favoring carnivores and this is not a place to worry about your cholesterol levels. The history of Rules and the ambiance is impressive.

User

Great atmosphere and amazing food !!

Such a lovely environment to relax in and take your time eating their glorious food.

Quite a special place to dine !!
