๐Ÿ”’ Lockdown Day 5 - 5 Mile Run ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ Gratitude for the day: our wonderful pets ๐Ÿถ ๐Ÿฑ
Iโ€™ll admit, when I got up this morning, I didnโ€™t feel like running. Was aiming for 5 miles, but just didnโ€™t fancy it somehow.
... So I decided to pick an Auro interval workout and just do a couple of miles. Which I did. Then one more mile...and another...then one more! Bingo!!!
Enjoyed day 5 of 30 days of Yoga With Adriene very much indeed, and overall feeling much better than I thought was possible a few days ago.

Lockdown Day 4 - 5 Mile Run ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ (posting a little late!)
Gratitude: the lovely sunny weather ๐ŸŒค is helping me to stay sane!
Another cold & crisp morning, took a 2-loop route as I needed a stop at home (ahem).
... Day 4 of 30 Days of Yoga With Adriene - lovely and relaxing, as I am finally allowing myself to be present and have the time for myself.
Also achieved: re-mowed the lawn (it was a bit patchy last time due to the grass having been so long), caught up with some work, Skyped my mum and bought some hay & straw for the animals. Youngest 2 kids had a game of Monopoly that didn't descend into war, which was nice! Lit a fire in the evening ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ
The reason I didn't post this yesterday was that by 7.30, I was falling asleep on the sofa. Went to be at 8.00 and slept for over 9 hours, so I must have needed it! ๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ˜ด

Lockdown day 3 - 15 mile bike ride by the river
Gratitude of the day: I love when life allows me to do different things every day, a luxury not available right now!
It was flipping freezing this morning, but bright and clear, which is making this lockdown more bearable. I also completed day 3 of 30 Days of Yoga.
... Just a quick check in today as Iโ€™m short on time (believe it or not!)

Lockdown Day 2 - 5 Mile Run๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ
โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒค Went for a lovely run in the sun - once again grateful that at least we have some glorious weather for this lockdown. Managed to run some of the Round Reading Ultra Marathon route, which has been flooded during the heavy rains - nice to get out there again.
I had to run without my headphones as I think I'd left my earbud switched on & the battery had discharged. Whoops!
... ๐Ÿ™This afternoon, I did day 2 of the original 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene - it's so weird for me to remember that this was the first yoga I ever did - in the run up (pardon the pun) to the 2017 Reading Half Marathon (my first) when I was injured. I'm trying to enjoy the "me time", as I'd been keeping my practices short recently due to lack of time.
๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿฅ• Other than this, JackJack & I spent a little time in the garden, but we were just trying to pick stones out of our plot to be able to grow carrots (hopefully).

Lockdown day 1 - 11.5 miles on my bike ๐Ÿšด๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ
Amazed to see building sites still at work! Stuck to roads today, but will head down to the river on Thursday, assuming Iโ€™m still allowed out ๐Ÿ™„
Restarted the original 30 Days of Yoga Yoga With Adriene ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ
... Got out into the garden with JackJack to work on our veggie garden ๐Ÿ…
Iโ€™m going to try to post daily during lockdown, partly for my sanity and partly so that I have a record.

Sooooo...all running events have been postponed/cancelled. Iโ€™ll still be out running as long as it is legal for me to do so, and doing my yoga at home. #covid19 #coronavirus

December Daily Dash day 2 done!

User

Today I completed day 1 of December Daily Dash
A lovely trail run on a chilly but sunny December morning - 4 miles, meaning Iโ€™ve run a total of 28 miles this week.
It was my first run using my early Christmas pressie of a Garmin Forerunner 245, which was great for my heart rate training!

Got a โ€œflying feetโ€ photo from the event I did on 20th October. Ran a half marathon that day (very slowly!) and absolutely killed my foot.
After that, I rested for 2 weeks and thought I was better...4 runs later and foot โ€œpingedโ€ again. I actually took myself for an X-ray in case it was a stress fracture, although all appeared clear.
Have found that if I heel strike, it doesnโ€™t hurt, so am going with this tactic and taking it slowly until itโ€™s 100% better.
... Iโ€™m planning to do December Daily Dash for Sue Ryder in the run up to Reading Half Marathon and Green Park Challenge in April.

Finally back to running, although โ€œthe footโ€ is still a little tender so I am taking it carefully. Have also been climbing 3 times this week...

User

Finally, finally back to running (albeit slowly) after what seems like forever but was actually only 12 days ๐Ÿ˜‚
Wearing in my newish Asics hybrid shoes on the muddy byways of Reading!...
Next event is 27th December ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

No running this past week as I promised my foot I wouldn't until it felt better. Have been out on Mike the Bike a few times, tho - including a very muddy ride yesterday down by the river.
Autumn is well and truly here!!! ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ

Today I took part in my first (and probably only) organised running event of 2019.
Saturn Running Zoovengers. There was a 7 hour window to run as many (or few) 3.28 mile laps as I liked. I stopped at 4 (half marathon) for at least 2 reasons: my foot was hurting and I hadnโ€™t run more than 10k in one go this year being the ones that pop to mind.
Iโ€™d definitely recommend Saturn Running events - well organised, great food/drinks at the fuel stop and the bling was ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป! Iโ€™ll be back!!!

User

Yesterday I ran a full 10km - my longest run for ages.
I'm still working on running in low heart rate zones, so aiming to keep my HR under 150bpm.
Although I'm very slow (12:19 per mile for this run), I've actually increased pace at this heart rate (was closer to 13:00 miles), meaning that hopefully as I progress I'll be able to run faster whilst keeping my heart rate lower, thus increasing endurance...that's the theory, anyway!

User

Did my first Parkrun for almost 2 years this morning!
Took it easy and finished in 34:58
Second outing for my new trail shoes and they were super comfy...
