Follow Adam's review. It's not a place for the middle class and it's aimed at hoovering money from the upper class with low quality goods. The place looks good but the product quality is low. Like before me, the chain provided snapped within 2 weeks ruining my new shoes, any attempt at a replacement is meet with harsh eyes. There are plenty of independent bike shops out there who sell quality service with dependable people whom will charge you less. This place is the Asda of bikes, choose instead the pleasant business owner.

Always take good care of my bike when I need anything done. Good prices compared to the rest of Cambridge. Turned my old bike I didn't want to part with into new condition. The bike mechanic there really knows his stuff.

Difficult to know how to review this place. I have been visiting for a couple of years and to be perfectly honest have found the service to be extremely variable. On the one hand there are 2-3 members of staff who are absolutely brilliant: helpful, friendly, chatty, will go out of their way to either offer good, reliable service or to help you to solve your problems, and will give honest advice about parts, servicing and accessories. On the other there are at least 2 people working there who should seriously consider an alternative career. For about a year I was putting my bike in every 2-3 months for new brake pads. A member of staff noted my frequent visits and advised me to fit high-performance brake pads, which cost twice as much as the basic ones but would last much longer. Sadly, after only three months these high-performance brake pads had actually worn through my wheel rim (never had that happen before) and the wheel collapsed while I was riding the bicycle. So they sold me replacement wheels that were "the same ones that were on the bike" (as it happens they actually weren't; they were a much lower spec than the ones that I had on there but I didn't realise at the time) and also an entire new chainset (as that was admittedly a little tired). Then the problems started. I collected the bike and noted that the tyres seemed a little flat. I borrowed the shop's track pump and found that both tyres were below minimum pressure by around 10PSI. While putting more air into the front tyre the tyre (which looked to have been incorrectly fitted) popped off of the rim and the inner tube burst. The shop kindly offered to replace the tube for me but when I examined the bill much later I spotted that they had charged me for the privilege! Nice. The new chain snapped twice within two weeks, the first time after only two days. I am not a particularly powerful cyclist so this came as a surprise. I requested a warranty replacement chain as this was clearly a manufacturing defect but was told that "this was a highly unusual failure" and that chains were "wear and tear items". The best that this particular member of staff would offer on both occasions was a replacement chain link. So my chain has two snap links in it now instead of none. I also found that the gear set up was terrible, with the chain jumping from gear to gear until I set about adjusting the derailleur myself. Then, about a week or two after the chain issue, the spokes started snapping in the rear wheel. I would change gear, apply some power and hear a "ping", followed by the feeling of the rear wheel becoming wobbly as it started to bend. The first time that this happened I popped the bike back in and spoke with one of the nicer members of staff. He recognised me immediately as only just having had new wheels and offered a free repair. The technician tried to claim that the spoke had snapped as a result of an object entering the wheel as the broken spoke was bent; in fact the spoke (when loose) had become bent when it hit one of my pannier bags while flapping around. Upon collecting my repaired bicycle I started riding home and then discovered that the rear brake had been left disconnected!! So I pulled over and reattached it. Exactly two weeks later another spoke snapped, so I returned the bicycle again for another warranty repair only for one of the less customer-friendly members of staff to try to charge me for the privilege! Understandably I was rather upset by this and protested most vociferously. He relented and rescinded the charge. At present I am still absolutely furious so will not be going back there if I can avoid it. Were it not for the extremely helpful members of staff then I would certainly give this place one star, so management should be glad that at least a couple of guys there know what they are doing and appear to genuinely care about their work and their customer service. Think carefully before going to this place though...

Always a pleasant place to shop. Group of bike enthusiasts who go the extra mile to help and see the long term value in customers.

I've been here several times to rent bicycles when visiting. The service has always been very good and I haven't had any issues with the equipment. Would recommend renting from these guys rather than borrowing an old bike that hasn't been well treated.

Came in the other day for a service and the very nice assistant looked over my bike before he took it in and advised me on a few bits that would need changing.
Even though it was a busy day by the amount of customers, my bike was still ready for me to collect after work.
The advised parts were changed and my now 8 year old mountain bike, rides like as if it was nearly new.
I didn't encounter any of the other concerns of reviews have made, and the assistants were happy, polite and really helpful.
Very pleased with the service and would definitely use them again.
