Very pleasant people who run the place, breakfast was very nice, I had a disabled room allocated so perhaps did not see it in its best light (I am tall and sink was a tad low for me!) Pleasant location opposite Peasholm Park.
Plus points:
Friendly Staff, nice clean good quality bed linen, nice sized room for a single, nice clean dining room.
Minus points
No skimmed milk, although I kept asking I ended up buying my own
No toilet brush and the toilet looked as if it had not been cleaned all season, I borrowed a brush from another room
Came back from being out and thought the coffee mug had been washed but no, just turned upside down on tray without being cleaned
Coffee tray itself was filthy
Kettle was disgusting, I went and bought descaler and treated kettle myself before I felt comfortable using it
Went for breakfast and came back to find staff had been in to empty the bin in both mine and my friends rooms and not re-locked either of the door, all valuables and handbags still in the rooms.
Door locks were dreadful to try and open from the outside, there appeared to be a few rooms with this same problem.
Coffee drips down front of drawers which needed washing down.
Chair frame was filthy, people have obviously spilled things on it and it has never been cleaned up.
carpet could do with stretching out as there was a large rut in it which could have been dangerous for anyone with walking problems.
Just generally not clean which was a shame and thinking about these issues not worth the £50 per night charged.
I could not in all honesty recommend staying here.
