Sacrifice and Bliss are a London-based experimental rock band with roots spread throughout the musical world. John and Roger formed Sacrifice and Bliss through a shared interest in foreign cultures and the work of Joseph Campbell whose documentary on mythology gives them their name.
Drawing on diverse genres from classical and middle eastern to electronic and noise music, they play music inspired by mythology and ritual often accompanied by dancers. They have played at masquerade balls, exhibitions, at Manchester Museum, composing and playing music for contemporary dance and at venues around London.

KYRIE Video - ( the Blood Fountain) song meaning and Images explained … Here is an interpretation of some of the images we used in the making of the video for 'Kyrie' ... the video has many themes and concepts, but ultimately its about about "THE GIVING OF YOURSELF TO THAT WHICH IS BIGGER OR GREATER THAN WHO YOU ARE". The first idea of sacrifice came to us after watching a Papua New Guinean ritual were a man and women willing give themselves to the tribe to be sacrificed in ...an act of cannibalism in order that the tribe can survive. It is inspired by all that is sacrificed in the process of worship. It is expressed in a western setting with Christian themes however it is irrelevant of faith or denomination and transcends even ethical judgement. It's about the giving of yourself to that which is bigger or greater than who you are. Its about the sacrifices people make for their belief.
