Very pleased to hear that a group of revert sisters had a pleasant evening yesterday at Sahara Grill! My sister and her best friend are absolutely over the moon for the lovely reception they had, after requesting SG to donate a little bit of food (but turned out to be an amazing dining experience) for a very charitable reason - helping revert sisters come together and dine with sisters during this blessed month to avoid eating alone - and I couldn't be more happier for them! Thank you Sahara Grill for giving them much more and allowing them to dine like normal customers at your restaurant! May Allah put immense barakah in this business and all other businesses who do their BIT to give back to their community. Ameeeeen

THE MOST BLESSED IFTAR AT SAHARA GRILL, WHITECHAPEL

We decided to post a status inviting sisters who have reverted to Islam and are struggling by themselves this Ramadan to come and join us for iftar at Human Appeal. Everyone brings a dish and we're good to go. I of course, couldn't bring any food and had a lightbulb idea of calling local restaurants to donate a little something to help these sisters open their fasts. Zaza's in Whitechapel offered to donate - and I was over the moon. We told everyone not to bring a dish as Zaza's have offered to cover it. So, two hours left until it's time to open our fast - I pop to Zaza's to reconfirm the food for our iftar. The manager, very unkindly and surprisingly says that he will charge us £50, despite my plea that its for a good cause as well as it contradicting his earlier promise. He said sternly 'We're a business' - and on that note, I left the restaurant. One hour left until iftar and I thought, how unfortunate is it that we'll be feeding our new friends pizza for iftar 😢. I thought I'd try my luck and call Sahara Grill on New Road, Whitechapel. I explained the situation to Jibraan, the manager. He asked me how many sisters - I said eight. He said 'Well, why don't you open your fast at Human Appeal then come to our restaurant. We'll have a table ready for you and you can order whatever you like and as much as you like from the menu - free of charge'. I was shocked. 😮 I kept asking him if he was sure - we only wanted a little something, and he said 'No sister, its the least we can do for our revert sisters'. After we opened our fast, prayed magrib, we went over to Sahara Grill. It was packed to the brim - no surprise being a busy Friday night! A gentleman named Haroon showed us to our table, comfortably tucked away downstairs - all set and ready for us (despite how full it was with paying customers!) We had the loveliest meal and was served by the best waiter named Ihsaan (sidenote: He is really living by the meaning of his name - Ma shaa Allah). He asked us if we were okay and ensured we had everything we needed. It was the best evening with amazing food. Sahara Grill is the best host, stepping in when we really needed it! May Allah put so much barakah in your business and earnings - may the management and workers all be rewarded for their generosity and for helping revert sisters feel at home.

I went to Sahara on a Saturday night for dinner with my friend and I have to say the service and food is on point. I'm not from East London so it was nice to be amongst my people. The dining experience was authentic and real, everything I look for when I'm eating out. Highly recommended!

Always like Sahara grill!! Just a few changes needs to be done 1- water jars needed instead of water bottles, 2- hot wind It's as if the hot wings been cooked and splattered with Tabasco sauce 3- every time I order beef T-bone steak it's always under cook 😔

The front of house and manager need to attend a customer service/relation course. I did not appreciated being created by "hey sis what's popping", not very professional. The manager was rude just came over and told us if our whole party was not there by 7pm our table would be cancelled, didn't even have the decency to greet us properly and had the incorrect information as our table was booked for 7:30. Also there was another member of staff who kept on watching over us making us feel uncomfortably. The fajitas were OK but needed more than a teaspoon of condiments to complement the dish. Invest in some jugs, its ridiculous that the poor waiter (Hasan, who was very attentive) had to go back on forth to serve us some water!!!!!!!

User

Clearly guys they are not listening to these reviews as no improvements are being made. Food was flavoursome however way overpriced. Front of house receptionist quite rude. No eye contact. I was given starters but no plates. Also given butter knife to cut steak, not very impressed.

User

Agree, over priced some staff are very rude and not engaging. The food however was flavoursome. For a restaurant they should invest in some water jugs for large groups of people.

Sahar Grill dissapointed in you guys big Time Saw something Utterly disgracefull today behind the kitchen staff were doing guy touches his nose right in front of me picks it n den rubs his hand near on his trousers n serves pur Drinks and on top of that there was a lot of things such as using "Heinz" ketchup bottles on the tables and when i walked past the galley i could clearly see Big Cheap Bottles of Ketchup 2litre bottles you get from cash and carry lol wtf man even the "Heinz" Mayonaise i saw clearly Dirty Big Tubs of Mayonaise which they just refill from and to what a let down big time such a big name such bullshit behind the scenes ohh well it for you Guys charging customers for Fake stuff absolutly disgusting. Rip off you lots.

You guys should be ashamed.

Waited more than 45 mins for a Meal aswell.

For the money there are better places to dine in - the Meat Co. being one. It's another place where the food doesn't match the decor and is underwhelming poor in both service, price and quality.

User

Been going there for years but there service has become awful.after yesterday's service I will never recommend this branch. Very disrespectful staff And rude staff
