About Sail Cleone Uk

The World's oldest sailing yawl, a Victorian sailing yacht built in 1860, still sailing today and now available for skippered day charter.

Sail Cleone Uk Description

Ever wanted to sail away on a fine old yacht? Didn't have the time? Didn't have the money to match the dream? Well, now, you can now make that dream more of a reality.
Cleone is one of the oldest yachts in the world, still sailing and probably the oldest cruising yawl - a specific type of Victorian yacht - in the world. Still with largely her original hull structure, though refitted over the years, she is now available for skippered day charter from some of the most beautiful rivers and estuaries in South Devon, England.

Operating from the Rivers Dart and Exe, we provide skippered day charter, so that whether you are an experienced sailor who just wants to experience a sailing day on a classic Victorian yawl, to a complete novice who just wants a relaxing day out in style, with others doing all the hard work, a day on Cleone might be just what you need.

The only restriction on the day will be the weather and tides, and everything else is as you desire. From a day's sailing, sailing to anchor and explore local beaches at sea, to just taking a lazy day to explore the upper rivers and estuaries, either to photograph, to sketch and paint at leisure, or - tides permitting - visit pubs and restaurants up secluded creeks.
Cleone would even make a stunning "wedding yacht", as a backdrop for wedding or fashion photography, and as a conveyance for the bride and groom.
