First class visit to Sainsbury's near Eight Ash Green. Loads of spacecraft between aisles so it didn't feel cramped. Checkout staff polite. Cafe had good choice of food and the coffee was lovely. They also had Nata Tarts, my favorite!

This is an absolutely huge store, selling a vast amount of products. Upstairs is a large Cafe selling a selection of hot and cold foods. There is also a huge clothing and shoe department, as well as a Clark's shoes franchise. Downstairs there is an electrical and toy department as well as products for the kitchen, bathroom, car, soft furnishings and so on. And then there is the huge food etc. My only grumble about this store is the lack of manned tills. They have lots of self service but always a queue if you would like human interaction.

A large and fully stocked Sainsbury's super store. Full range of grocery bakery butchery and deli.
Hardware and household electronics plus the range of clothing abd footway. Oh yes and a good cafe...

Larger store with. Petrol station. Clothes upstairs with a Clark's shoe shop. Electricals downstairs with a good choice/range. Loos are usually clean enough and always parking available. Even late in the day this store can be busy but I have never had to wait long in a queue for the tills. Good location.

I've just got back from late night shopping - what a lovely bunch of people your night staff are. Every one we came across went out of their way to be helpful and pleasant. They are a credit to Sainsbury's.

Reasonably decent supermarket. Could really do with more tills open at times. You can get better quality meat locally (Willsher's at Marks Tey) and better fish slightly further afield, but it's pretty much what you'd expect for a large supermarket.

The local council must be laughing all the way to the planning committee about this place, its got be one of the worst shipping experiences in the country I've experienced, I'm sure this is one of the reasons they're losing money.
I've just got back to the UK after a while away and spoke to my wife after the fiasco we witnessed there some weeks ago.
The security, one of them who could barely understand queens English, had apprehended an alleged shoplifter, the person hadn't done anything wrong and management were running about like headless free range trying to appease the "wrongly accused customer". The place was an utter joke.
It's quite funny really I've paid more for a London palladium comedy act than what I saw that day.
The staff at this place well it's hit & miss, more miss than bull's-eye.
I used to go quite a lot when they were at the old site, but the new store is like an airship hanger.
Customer service non existent and that's if you can find someone free.
"Some" of the staff, act like you're there to do them a favour I mean hello excuse me!
There's one person what looks like a manager, who seems to be looking for a fight let alone wanting to serve customers, yes hello we are here to spend money!
Trying to take something back i.e. a return, is an experience like handing your I.D. papers to the gestapo in a small French train station.
"I mean perish the thought a refund" and the amount of times I hear those machines at the tills trying to dish out promo coupons is another joke, the mini dispensing units are empty, they're puffing out hot air Sainsbury's! There's the impression of no leadership or management at this place, by August the business owners in the town centre of Colchester are going to be laughing their heads off, when the enhanced government planning application decision for the area comes back as a big "No".
The so called flagship site to the whole development is an awful shopping experience in my view and from what I hear, it's no wonder why?

Outstanding Customer Service
I visited store today to return an item. I was told without a receipt it would not be possible. I was quite annoyed by this and expressed my frustration. The 2 team members known as Lorraine and Pat were very helpful and took the dates of purchase. With the help of another colleague the transaction was located and refund followed.
Store manager please praise both Lorraine and Pat for the outstanding customer service.

Has absolutely anything one might need during a grocery shop and more. Extensive home items too. Very spacious and doesn't feel claustrophobic like most hypermarkets.
