1. The DPF was cleaned without it being removed from the vehicle using a chemical process. The soot has been removed but the DPF remains blocked with ash resulting from the soot being burned off with the car’s own regeneration process.
... 2. The DPF has been taken off the vehicle and cleaned with Carbon Cleans’ DCS-16 and now has no blockage at all. Not even ash.

Greenfleet are reporting that following the changes to the MOT test which came in to effect back in May, more than 744,592 cars have failed the emissions test, compared to 350,472 the year before. Greenfleet also report that van drivers have been particularly effected by the new emissions testing regulations, with 448% more failing the test on emissions this year compared to 2017.
This is due to the new emission testing rules that state a vehicle will earn a 'Major Fault' if ...the car produces 'visible smoke of any colour' from its exhaust - usually caused by the DPF not performing correctly due to a build up or blockage of waste product the vehicle's own regeneration system can't deal with. Vehicles will also earn a Major Fault if the DPF has been tampered with or opened - previously the only solution to cleaning a blocked DPF.

Just booked in for a major service and MOT. Wanted to check that the car we were giving my daughter was safe.

Unfortunately it failed the MOT badly on a few issues.

Tomasz went through all of the issues and we had to weigh up if the costs to fix where worth it based on the value of the car. As it’s a car we have had for 7 years, know well and has low mileage and been reliable we decided to get all the work done (instead of buying a car we don’t know the history on)

Just got the car back and it sounds and drives like a new car and I feel so much happier that I know my daughter will be driving a car that’s now safe and reliable. Communication has been good and all costs and work explained at every stage. They also kindly picked up and dropped off the car.
