Join us at 19:30 tonight for our ŌĆśservice of shadowsŌĆÖ. Our choir will be singing the ancient and dramatic Office of Tenebrae in an imaginative processional service drawing on the Sarum tradition.

Would you like to try your hand at stonemasonry? We're running stone carving courses this summer and limited spaces are available.
You will be tutored by one of our Cathedral's own Masons, who will guide you every step of the way. Each two day course will also include a workshop tour with either our Clerk of Works or Head Mason and an optional tower tour on the second day.
A previous attendee of the course said, "We had a great time and everyone who has seen our efforts is very impressed with what we achieved in two days. Gary gave us a very interesting introduction and Alan and Christian were excellent tutors and very patient and helpful throughout.ŌĆØ

Prions pour (pray for) Notre-Dame Lord Jesus, your broken body, laid aside, rose in glory. Give resurrection hope to the people of Paris... and all who grieve the destructive fire at Notre Dame. From the ashes may beauty once more arise, as from the grave our new life comes. Amen.

The count is now up to four as our pregrine lays yet another egg! Our previous resident falcon, Sally, seems to be keeping her distance, which means it's so far so good for our new soon-to-be mother.

Every Monday at 12 midday we run a free tour specialising in the rich history of our stained glass windows. Simply ask at the Welcome Desk upon arrival. https://bit.ly/2KsS5f6

Tomorrow is the beginning of Holy Week and from Palm Sunday to Easter Day over 30 services and events will take place here.
Our Cathedral will change its look as it is ŌĆśdressedŌĆÖ in accordance with the narrative and mood of each event that is recalled, and the period as a whole represents ŌĆśnew creationŌĆÖ and hope for the year to come.

Yesterday we attended the ordination of deacons as guests of one in particular. We had an exciting, joyful day. All the vergers were welcoming, the refectory staff and coffee were great, the service was moving, the choir was beautiful. I grew up in the city until I married and moved away and for me it was a real homecoming! Thank you!

Wow, what an experience! This cathedral is famous not just in Europe, but in the whole world. ItŌĆÖs famous for its 123-metre spire, itŌĆÖs famous for its clock, the first one of its kind ever created in the world, which is still working. Best for a short visit.

What a truly remarkable Cathedral I have lived here all of my life , but have never truly appreciated its beauty until now . I will be back to see more And to gaze at its immense beauty , and to sit awhile in its beautiful grounds to reflect ...

User

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour 9 years ago. We are wondering if Mr. Heathers is still there? We thought he did a wonderful job leading our tour.

User

WOW...for historic architecture buffs, this is the place to go..building started 800 years and it is really eye opening on how these guys built such an amazing building..

A splendid place to spend a few hours..

Visited 21st May 2018, Weather was perfect and the Cathedral was simply outstanding. Beautiful place to visit, well worth the long journey through beautiful lush English countryside.

User

Truly beautiful. Unlike my visit to The Minster in York, I found myself totally at peace here. Visiting was the highlight of my 23 days in England. If I lived within walking distance I would visit weekly.

User

Travelled all the way from Vladivostok to see this WONDERFUL cathedral and it's old clock. Was not disappointed at all by the 123m spire! Shame I could only stay for an hour but it was SO worth it.

User

This is the perfect place to immerse yourself in history. The cathedral is a marvellous capture of engineering and shows the true craftsmanship of the past masters. If youŌĆÖre feeling energetic take on the Spire tour where the views at the top are well worth the slight asthma attack of the climb. Be sure to wear your Fitbit.

Right outside is the historic Cathedral Close, packed with lovely buildings, fabulous sculptures and museums well worth a walk round. The Salisbury Museum always has a new theme and is always a joy.

The City of Salisbury has lost a few shops in the recession, but nowhere has not been touched by that. It does make up with great architecture, top named shops and plenty of restaurants, cafes and more pubs than you can shake a stick at!

User

One of the best cathedrals I have visited. Although mainly in the Early Gothic style, there are also examples of Decorated and Perpendicular gothic elements in the cathedral. There are so many fine examples of different architectural elements that it is worth a 2-day trip. Outstanding.

User

One of my favourite places in the whole country. Stunning architecture and surroundings, with an opportunity to find stillness and inspiring worship. Welcoming staff and volunteers, and the music is sublime!

User

Not too much snow or sludge. The spire is famous not only in Europe but also the rest of the world. Perfect tourist attraction for Russians.

User

I trained as a teacher in Salisbury. Had a room in the Close facing on to the Cathedral. Beautiful.

That was a long time ago and I now live hundreds of miles away.

It is still my favourite cathedral!!

User

Beautiful place to visit with interesting history. lots of nice shops and pubs in the area. really enjoyed it

User

An amazing day out , my grandad was born in Salisbury and worked in the Cathedral during the Second World War , I remember going to the Cathedral in 1975 on a school trip to see Johnny Morris do a talk for the WWF .

User

Absolutely wonderful and in a beautiful setting. I had been wanting to visit Salisbury for many years and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Cathedral and the Magna Carta. Highly Recommended.

We loved our visit, especially the dove display. It was absolutely stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit & our Tomato & Basil soup.

The only criticism we have is that when we told a guide a child as part of a school trip (within sight) had left their camera on a table, she couldnŌĆÖt return to them due to ŌĆśsafeguardingŌĆÖ and we should take it to the vestry to hand in. Perhaps lost property would be better handed into the entrance booth, which is where we were heading when the French child & teacher returned to collect.

User

Today we went to the admission of canons service and were so moved by the peace installation of origami doves,do go and see it it is moving and magical.
