Obedience training is becoming popular. Jenni can teach advanced obedience to you and your dog in her one to one sessions. Your dog would need to already be well behaved on and off the lead to qualify for advanced training. You can book and assessment with Jenni and see if you and your dog are ready to take this course. Teaching more advanced obedience can be really beneficial to your dog and will certainly tire out the most energetic of hounds. The initial assessment is £30 and then we offer 5 further sessions for £120, saving you £30 in total.

Our new dog walking club starts this evening at 18.30 in Hudsons field. There are two spaces left if you are thinking about joining in on the fun. We are looking for dogs that are fairly well behaved on the lead, also dogs that are not aggressive to other dogs. This is a chance to socialise, learn some great tricks and brain games for your dogs. These types of games will help you to burn off excess energy your dog has. You will also be able to pick the brains of Jenni the trainer with any other issues you may have, Contact us for booking details, times, prices and dates.

I find that dogs that burn of their energy are the easiest dogs to train. As owners we need to look at the breed of dog we have and take the age into consideration. From here we should consciously make sure we are helping to get rid of our dogs daily energy supply. It is far to easy to simply take the same walk everyday twice a day. Or open the back door and throw out a ball to play with. Does this really help our dog to truly expel their energy? Ok so we don't always have ti...me to take them on different walks or play in the garden with them. So small things can help, maybe take the same walk but reverse the route. Allow your dog time to sniff things fully along the way. Try a few brain taxing games in the garden, even 10-15 mins a day can be enough for some. We offer a new and exciting dog walking club on Thursdays in May. Part of this is education to what are dogs need. Our walks are for generally well behaved dogs that maybe just need a little extra. What is Forest Tracking? There are many scent tracking groups here in the UK. Some that ask for a fee to join, others offer you free courses you can download and then put into practice yourself. Most of which are courses in field tracking, what I do is Forest tracking. Finding tracks in the trees bushes and undergrowth is considered to be far more challenging. I have not yet found any forest tracking organisations here in the UK, As a dog trainer and passionate forest tracker... I am determined to make a name for it here. In Finland where I was born and raised I joined a Forest Tracking group when I was in my early 20's. Learning how to lay tracks and teaching my dog Tatjana (Black Russian Terrier), how to use her scent receptors to follow the route I had laid. We used smelly food to start (meatballs/sausages) this made it easy for Tatjana to find the tracks and quickly understand what was being asked of her. Progressing to using clothing or other items that belonged to me I was able to advance her tracking skills. Not only was I able to get her to track anything with a scent on the ground, she was also using her skills to air scent. This kind of work with my dog was so rewarding, through the group to which I belonged I was able to go on and win many competitions with my beloved Tatijana. In fact the most rewarding of all the scent tracking I was involved in, came when I was part of a search and rescue team to find missing people. So What is scent tracking? The most amazing and rewarding of activities that burns off your dogs energy like nothing else. What happens to your dog when your burn it's energy away like this? They become the most trainable best friend you could ever ask for. I now teach others this and so if you like the concept of scent tracking, contact me for more info on the courses I run.

Should apply everywhere. It is alright to let them off the leads in appropriate places but parks and rivers where children play well we wouldn't and we are trainers.
